kruger
What is it with this little thing? I have been down there twice to look around {see if I want to fish it} and I have yet to see one single fish? Has anyone ever fished it and is it worth really fishing in the next few days? Thanks, Kruger
Abrams
I live near there. I've walked it a few times looking for trout. I have never seen any. I would rather drive an hour for much better waters.
gundy89
I've fished it once. didn't catch anything but I did see 1 small trout. I probably won't bother with it again.
AceintheHole
There are some decent trout in there but not easy to find. I got a few over the years that were 12" -14" but they are few and far between.
kruger
Yep, I went out and fished it yesterday and not a thing, I saw 3 smalll fish all day {5 hrs} of fishing. I walked the whole stream and the fish I did see were in undercuts and very tight liped. The structure in the the stream is very minimal for the fish, which is not good. I fished with all flies and , tried several differnt pattrens but nothing.I guess I dont need to go back again! Ace what did you use to get those very few fish in the past? just curious? Thanks, Kruger
AceintheHole
Small mepps spinners but I have been down there in a couple of years. I started going to the cascade rive up north.
Here-Kitty-Kitty
Hmm so which river is this. I live like a minute away from Savage and haven't seen any streams .
rushing
If you're not super careful the fish are spooked and gone long before you can see them.
gundy89
Kitty,It's the small stream that runs by the car wash next to the tin shed. It's not much of a stream. Like I said, I fished it once and probably won't bother again. You can jump across it for the most part.
AceintheHole
You better fishing the Vermillion there's some very nice trout in there if you can find then.
trailratedtj
they are very very timid. I fished it 2 years ago and saw 2 or 3 fish. The only reason i saw them was due to me spooking them. I did see one rising close to the mouth near a root ball but he was quickly out of there the minute he saw my line hit the water 10 feet upstream from it. havent been back since. i might would give it a try again if i lived right beside it but its not worth driving too, if you ask me. bass-o-matic
You fished it on Friday? Trout season doesn't open till 4/18, and as far as I know, Eagle Creek is not considered a SE stream for catch and release. Not only are you wasting time fishing it, you're also asking for a ticket. dspohn
Yeah that creek hasnt been stocked in a looong time, there are very few trout if any left in there, also hard to accsess in many places.
trailratedtj
i dont think its a designated stream?
bass-o-matic
There is a sign along every access point that states it is a designated trout stream. Why, I really don't know, but the signs are there.
AceintheHole
because there are trout in there thats why. Just cause you can't see them or catch them 90% of the time doesn't mean there not there.
trailratedtj
sorry its been over 2 years since i fished it and i dont recall seeing any signs.
Flaco651
I used to live within minutes of Eagle Creek and thought it was on the downfall, but according to this '08 article it is improving. Eagle Creek Brown Trout
Here-Kitty-Kitty
Ace you might need to show me this stream. I know where the tin shed is, but I can not remember that stream.

Here-Kitty-Kitty
Ah yes I know where it is now.
Abrams
There is only a very small part of the river that is fishable. There are several boiling springs that bring up water from hundreds of feet below. The water has zero oxygen in it. At best it's marginal water. It flows through my back yard I've had a few talks with the DNR as they remove buck torn. It's not worth much time fishing, it is a unique area.
