09 television schedule

54 posts in this topic

I was just looking over this season's schedule and it shows all the games being broadcast on mlb.tv, not fsn-north. Other then the nationally televised games.

What is up with that? I don't get mlb.tv with my %$$^%$% cable company.

Must be missing something, I can't imagine that the only way to watch the twins is on mlb.tv

I had no idea. It looks like you're right, all games on MLB. I can't believe your cable co. doesn't carry it. I'd call them.

We have Comcast and the same pkg. that carries MSN also has the MLB Network so we're good to go. Sux to be you. grin

I would call the Twins front office and tell them to stop being so greedy!

MLB.tv is internet. They've had random games on for a few years. I think that this year you can subscribe and watch all games.

The Twins will likely be on FSN but the schedule probably hasn't been updated.

Quote:
MLB TV network launches Jan. 1

Sunday December 21, 2008

We're just a few days from the New Year's Day launch of the MLB Network, which will become baseball's official TV channel.

If you're familiar with the NFL Network, it's roughly the same blueprint. At launch, the schedule will consist of mostly studio shows from Secaucus, N.J., and old games. The network will show games on Thursday nights throughout the season.

And one very cool program is on the docket already: The Ken Burns "Baseball" miniseries that aired on PBS in 1994 will be airing on Tuesdays. Set your DVR or VCR if you don't have the series on DVD already.

And Major League Baseball has an ambitious timetable for more. It will launch with a capability of 50 million subscribers, and it wants to be a viable contender for bidding on postseason games by 2013.

So will you have it on your television? If you have Comcast, Cox, Direct TV, Time Warner, Charter, Cablevision or Verizon FiOS, you can get it (probably have to be on some kind of sports tier). If you have AT&T or Dish Network or a smaller company, it's not likely that you won't have it at launch.

There will be a a few familiar names. The studio hosts are Matt Vasgersian (formerly the Padres play-by-play announcer) and Victor Rojas. Former players Al Leiter, Joe Magrane and Harold Reynolds will be the analysts.

They have a tv channel now, but it sounds as though they wont be having any live games.

Thanks for the update wandering. There is no way the Twins wouldn't be available to the public on cable is there? Boy that would be a long summer without em.

Boy, how soon they forget. Wasn't it just 2 years ago the Twins tried to get their own station going? We didn't have bb on TV for almost the whole first half of the season. You're right, it WAS a long summer.

Just got this email straight from FSN.

"FSN will still be airing Major League Baseball."

Yah, I remember that, but I also remember thinking there is no way that they will be able to hold it from us too long. Good ole Victory sports channel. Another one of old Carl's swindling moves to try to make more money than he needed while screwing the fans over - that Dink.

I thought I heard that FSN will still be airing the games this season. I sure hope so. Lots of night spent in the Garage watching the Twins with the neighbors.

    • I would say your results speak for themselves, we often do things that don't make sense or trade short term gain for long term trouble. Nature does things for a reason that we often don't understand, why try to fix what isn't broken?
    • Two charter boats. (11 people) Fishing was very slow last Sunday afternoon (8), but we did really well on Monday morning (43). Due to bad luck drawing cards, neither Mrs Duff or I touched a rod on Sunday. She went 5 for 5 on Monday. That's fishing for ya though. And true fishermen understand that.   Some real nice fish this year, good luck to those that make it out there.
    • And no, it does not have some sort of virus. They are calling it a phishing site and it is not. It competes with Google adsense so it make sense for Google to be sloppy in their algorithm.
    • Great storytelling with pictures on a portion of your life experiences in the  great outdoors.  Thanks for sharing Len.
    • Len - This was a very nice article.  I enjoyed your writing style.  Take care.
    • I am going to pick up a box to pattern against what I am shooting now. Here is my question. They are available in both 1 3/4 oz. shot and 1 7/8 oz. shot in 12 gauge. In a 3" 12 gauge #5 shot shell, that comes out to a 21 pellet difference. The velocity for 1 3/4 is 1200 fps, for 1 7/8 is 1080. At 20 yards it would make very little difference, but say at 45 yards would you rather have the extra 21 pellets or the added velocity? I suppose the answer is to buy both and pattern them, but I am curious as to the thoughts of the folks on this board. Thanks
    • I was looking to get an otter XT pro cabin this winter, I was wondering of anyone on here has an otter in the pro platform and how they like the extra insulated walls. Does it seem bulky? Too warm on above 0 days? I wouldn't mind just the normal cabin but they only offer it with a bench it seems but having the extra insulation may be nice to have for those cold days here and there.
    • Thank You for the very interesting and enjoyable morning read
