Bottle Fish
Went fishing with my friends one night and the next day I caught a leatherman one of them dropped down a hole and didn't even know he did it.Also caught two ice rods on two different occasions. And no, neither one had a fish on the end.Any other nice catches that weren't fish?
riverrat56
I fished my keys out of the bottom of Lake Washington a few years back...
Glockwinger
Well, I fished my Kershaw knife out of Mille lacs this year, and the hot dog tongs that fell off the counter in the wheel house on Waconia.A few years back a guy I knew dropped his wedding band down the hole on Mille lacs. It took some time, a camera, some inginutiy, and a very cold arm...but he got it back. That one was amazing. I have a buddy that had the ability to catch baseball sized rocks from the bottom of Mille Lacs and was able to bring them up the holes using a rattle spoon! leech~~
Caught a fishing pole and pulled up a few rocks on Mill Lacs, and pulled up a really nice big fishing Net on Edwards during the summer. Then a lot of other junk pulling Lindy rigs like plastic bags, tee shirts, rags, old line and lures.
Eric Wettschreck
My good friend Bob lost his rattle reel down the hole on URL a couple weeks ago.The next morning he caught a walleye and it wraped the line around his lost rattle reel. It was a successful landing of both the fish and the reel.

A few turtles, a couple of clams, and a lawn chair (that one put up a pretty good fight.)

eyebjim
I cought a large drift sock by the harness so it was fully deployed while reeling in. Boy that was a fight. Got about 6 or 8 crankbaits that were stuck in it. They should have been using fireline.
straydog
I cought a drift sock also, I thought it was a dead body.
dirtking
We caught a walleye with a stringer hook through its lower lip. We took off the stringer hook and let it go. I told the old man the fish was probably mad at us cause we took its lip piercing - It WAS the coolest fish in the lake! But this was soft water so I guess it might not count – I caught a cement block with a rope attached in the winter.
mrfish1991
havnt caught many non-fish items during the winter...but i have caught a decoy weight on a string and several crayfish while trolling for eyes up on ML.I also accidently caught an octapus while fishing for redfish in south carolina

nofishfisherman
I caught a rubber glove once while fishing the Mississippi. It came in inflated with water and had the correct skin color to it, when I first saw it I nearly soiled myself becuase I swore it was a human hand I just reeled in. deadeye
Oh man this is a good thread, all of the interesting stuff that I have caught in the river. I had a dead pig float by one day and snag my line without me knowing, one heck of a fight. I also caught a dead racoon too. Not really sure how that stuff ends up on the hook, I supose its being drug on the bottom and runs into the line. I have also caught cell phones, fishing poles, a couple shoes, I caught a pair of jeans once (i thought for sure I had a body when I saw the leg come up ). Crazy stuff turns up down there when its high water.
leech~~
Catching rocks? sounds like Charlie Brown fishing. Rikstr, Ouch! I was doing some aggressive jigging with a Swed pimple over the rocks, and yes I do catch a few fish along with a rock once in a while!! Rick G
I catch a lot of strange stuf in the miss but the oddest thing was the severed head of a spike buck. Got him on a jointed shad rap in the sd color if I remember right.

I caught a rubber something or another in the mississippi last year. It was also inflated with water, but I didn't mistake it for something it wasn't.
