how to raise the motor

i have a 14ft fishing boat and it has a shallow transom and i got a 9.9 long shaft from my neighbor that sold his boat how can i get the motor a little higher out of the water so the skag doesn't hang down so low

they make a jack plate for high performance bass boats to get the motor up higher, I would think you could use the same idea and fabricate one for your boat.

That make a mini jack plate for about $100 bucks that would work.

They're pretty simple / straight forward... I'd get a stationary one that bolts to the transom.

You can also just bolt two 1/4" pieces of steel with green-treat between them to build up the transom. Thats what my buddy did to his duck boat and it worked great for his 9.9 mariner long shaft.

As stated by marineman, I'd get a static bracket instead of one that sets the motor back on a boat that small.
