Well I just installed CS4 tonight and thought I would do a little preliminary playing with it. So far I like what they have done with the layers palates. It makes working with masks and layers really simple. I have only done a coupld of images so have not seen all the little differences yet but here is a pic I took last summer Just West of the split rock lighthouse up in the hills. Only some basic PP with CS$ such as level, saturation, curves, exposure, etc.

I found CS4 to be a nice upgrade from CS2. I especially like the ability to open JPEG's in Camera Raw. Content aware scaling, opening in tabs, and the Targeted Adjustment Tool are just a couple of the cool features.
