Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

The walleye season may be coming to a close, but that's when pannie season kicks in! There is a lot of hot action yet to be had on the ice! I prefer Ice fishing from Ice up through mid April or ice out, and Open water between Mid April and whenever there's fishable ice. They are both great!

My screen name tells it all, I think you can get set up for the hardwater much cheaper than getting a boat ect. In the winter one usually fishes in a controlled environment(portable or perm.) one does not have to worry as much about weather conditions ie: rain, wind, heat, cold. The hardwater is a different ball game all in itself as opposed to summer fishing. I love the social aspect of ice fishing, people seem less social during open water( my opinion of course. I seem to get a back ache after being on the boat for more than 3-4 hours from the constant up and down motion of the water,I dont get that ice fishing. Plus I think the fish taste better in winter..Just my 2 cents....BT

I love the ice as I can go everwhere I want to in the summer, without the hassle of a boat. Boats are just such a PITA, I have never had any problems with my Otter dying on me out in the middle of a lake.

Plus it is so much more quiet. You can easily have the whole lake to yourself, even in the heart of Minneapolis.

Nothing gets me more excited than fishing open water when the ice is just starting to form, or after it has recently opened up. Fishing on the ice is nice too.

I like the convenient access to lakes in the winter...so much more freedom without offloading/loading a boat. Hard to beat seeing a big fish follow your bait in the open water, though. Both are great, just in different ways.

first off ur posting in "ice fishing forum" but i like ice fishing better. Id rather pull the porti out with the sled then load and unload a boat. i can get out and fish solo easier then open water. Not to meantion i HATE hot weather, i hate sweating my balls off when its 100+ outside and 100% hum/due point, give me 0 outside and nice warm house over a nice little honey hole anyday

    • This is an intriguing round for sure. Ballistics and long range performance is supposed to be good. Ammo seems priced reasonably.  A big plus is that you can get it in an AR-15 and with a 90 grain bullet I wouldn't be afraid to use it on deer sized animals. I've always liked the idea of having multiple uppers for my AR.
    • The Trestle got 10+ inches of snow today ,,, May have to make plans to go take a peek at the trails this weekend ,,, Hopefully the groomers can get out and pack the trail a little bit to cover the rocks
    • Ha! I am looking into the app controller outlets but not for plugging in the pickup. I just built a deck on the back of the house and I'm going to pull wire and add some extra outlets out there for lights. They'll be much easier than putting in more switches to control them.
    • Oh don't be a poopy pants!  Just given yea some poop!  Nice looking fish as always!
    • Keep us posted my sled is already in the trailer ready to go. My ice scratchers will be delivered tomorrow. And plan on heading up north the day after Christmas for a few days
    • I believe you didn't poach those Northerns. You'd have to catch a fish once to be a poacher....
    • C'mon, we've spent a lot of time coming up with solutions.  Pull out the credit card, buy some of the stuff, and tell us how it works.
