KJ's on Mille Lacs

5 posts in this topic

My fella and I are going out of KJ's on Tuesday and was wondering if anyone has had luck there. We have fished out of Lybacks many times and the houses/service were excellent everytime - just no fish. It is my guy's birthday and I wanted to try to get us in some different structure/area. Any advice or reports would be welcome. I hear that KJ's have very nice houses and good roads.

A buddy of mine went out there 2 weeks ago. The got one walleye (in the slot, went back) and nothing for perch. Bring some equipment and be mobile. Sit in the shack at night and drive around during the day.

    • Depends on what your education and interest is.   No jobs in my field in GR for sure.   That's why I worked with a bunch of Range guys here in Rochester.   Get a EE degree, and you won't be finding much up there.   On the other hand, after some experience, there are jobs where you work from home so it doesn't matter where you live, programming and even some engineering jobs.       But they require good internet.  Things are better that way up north but not everywhere.
    • well factor in cost of living and its a wash
    • Same ol story. The Liberals cant handle defeat. Like when Gore lost and Kerry lost. They just cant handle that there are people outside of NY and California and that they own guns, drive pick ups and vote.
    • My brother-in-law is serious about his whiskey, and he usually drinks either Crown or Pendleton.  My wife has drank Windsor for years.     Can't stand the stuff myself - probably got sick from overloading on it in my younger days.  Strictly beer for me - preferably a good craft beer, but normally Grain Belt or Schell's if it's available.
    • Their, there. I was.  Not overly excited by anything I saw. Did get to shoot the Gearhead bow and was fairly impressed. Some uniqueness to this bow, and completely reversible right to left so dealers should like that as far as reduced inventory they must carry.  And the lightest crossbow out there. The new Halon shoots extremely well but like its predecessor just too heavy for my taste.  The Bowtech Reign felt pretty good, but again nothing special.  Everyone makes a roto molded cooler, trail camera, and broadhead nowdays. Liked the cast aluminum tree stands from Rivers Edge at a better price point than others.  Hawk is making some neat treestands and accessories. Goldtip was doing a demo bending their arrows vs other brands and was quite amazing how much farther theirs would bend before breaking, and how much their arrow recovered (would not take a set) after bending vs the other brands. I might switch just because of the durability and straightness factor. Got to hold the new world record Tennessee non-typ.  That's a lot of horn.
    • Therefore, if there is no point in making a point, that makes it a moot post to make a point that there is no point. so I'd like to point out that I find this entire dialogue pointless.    Sillytown has run amuck.
    • Ayup. They asked me to take his place, but I can't stand Rawlings.    http://www.gasmonkeygarage.com/yes-aaron-the-bearded-wonder-is-leaving-gas-monkey-garage/
    • That does look like a fun day!
