Sad Story

About 130 icefishermen were rescued off a floating chunk (about 8 miles long) of ice on Lake Erie today. A crack that was easily crossible in the morning by a makeshift bridge opened to about the width of a football field stranding just about everone that was out there. Some were able to get back in by running the length of the crack but most just stood around looking at the open water. Unfortunately one person died.

According to the reports, his quad broke through some thin ice and he was rescued, but suffered a heart attack. That wind out of the West was gruesome and tore the ice pack away from the rest of the shore ice.
