Thanks guys! That's a lake we typically bring minnows with just because of that fact. A jig and a minnow can out fish any other bait we throw at them on certain days on that lake. Hopefully get out this weekend. Look for another post Sunday night!

Not a bad weekend of fishing for this neck of the woods. Fishing derby with family and friends Saturday. Great turn out by the way! That evening we hit the same lake as the previous post to. In 18fow, fish were somewhat finicky. Came in singles/doubles and would slowly make their way to the bait. We managed to ice a decent number of crappies in the 6 pack and did not move at all really. Jig and minnow was good to me while others stuck with tungsten and plastics. Both seemed to produce around the same ammout of fish. End of a great day! Bright and early this morning  we ventured out on a body of water that had been calling our name for sometime now. In search of BIG pannies we started the drilling process of finding these fish. After a BUNCH of holes we found some fish. Not exactly what we had hoped but we found fish. Tungsten and a variety of plastics were the ticket out there, in depths from 20-12fow. Being mobile was key as the fish were also throughout the day. Fun weekend! Have a look!

Found some decent crappies and gills over the weekend. Big schools of fish showed up on the vex after about a 20 holes search. Set up the 6 pack and had pretty steady action throughout the day. Found em suspended in 18 fow. Tungsten jigs tipped with our favorite plastics or spikes seemed to be what they liked. Crappies were very aggressive and would shoot up though the school and just annihilate your bait! While the gills were slow moving and were very soft lipped. Huge marks would show up on the vex and scare them away for a bit but as soon as they left they would come back. We figure big bass or pike. A LOT of fish were caught in this half day of fishing. Here's the bigger ones of the day. Crappies are 13 n some change and the gills were just shy of 10. Still looking to break that mark before ice out. Have a look!
