lovebigbluegills
All the above ideas are great ideas...the only thing I can think of to add, is that if you have just a few places where mice can get into your garage, fill the holes with steel wool. For some reason mice can't stand steel wool.
Ed Carlson
The best method is be darn sure to clean it before storage. Remove any possible food sources, wipe down with a cleaner, like a bleach, or vinegar/water diluted mix, or a kitchen or bathroom cleaner. Chuck in a handful of Bounce dryer sheets to ward them off, they dislike the smell.Get it up and off the floor is a wise idea for many reasons, just adds more room when stored. The biggest thing is don't make it a fast food joint for hungry Mama Mouse looking for some chow and a place to raise a bunch of little shack chewers. Any food items left behind in a shack or the smell of potential food...including bait of any type...is an open invite for mice to dig in and and B-line through the canvas to get to it. I would have to agree that's the main reason it happens to most people. As for removing it from the tub and storing it in a tote. If only I was that ambitious.... Walterwontfalter
Quote:put dryer sheets in the shack and shove a couple in between the tarp when it is folded. This has worked great and havent had a problem since I started doing it!My vote is also with the dryer sheets. My guess is that you already have some in the laundry room so it won't cost you anything.
FrontenacPike
I bought 4 o-bolts and and two ratchet straps. Hang it in the middle of your garage on the sealing away from all walls. There is no possible way a mouse could get at it.
