At what age would you let your child clean a fish?

I started at seven. I think any age in that area is okay but keep a close eye and an easy fish to clean, a walleye would be ideal.

The other day I let my 7 year old son try to clean our catch for the day (2 sunnies *sigh*). Well, He's not ready (or maybe it's me) quite yet. I'm way too nervous watching him wield the knife on the filleting part. Skinning he seems to be better at, but needs practice getting off all the meat. After we were done, I let him bread the fish, and fry them up, all by him self (with my supervision of course).
