So i was going to take my girlfriend out fishing today, we get to the lake get everything out of the truck and i go to close the back window on the Suburban and and it shatters into a million pieces. I couldnt believe it i was so mad all i wanted to do is fish and that happens so that ends the day right there. To make it even better since i never drive the thing i only put liability on it so it looks like i get to spend some money to buy a new window. Then i drive home and 94 is a zoo, worset driving day of the year i get to drive home going 30.

What a bummer, that sucks...

On a side note, I almost lost my wheeled house this year on it's first trip to the lake. I was getting everything hooked up, when My wife got home. I went to talk to her, and then left... The first bump I hit, I felt something weird. Then I felt a thud into the back of my truck and realized the house had disconnected. Luckilly the chains held onto it and no noticable damage was done to my truck or house. Apparently, when My wife got home, I forgot to lock the trailer hitch...

My day sucked as well. I get everthing together and get to the lake. My tub that I hold tow straps, etc in breaks and everything falls out the bottom. Get everything picked back up and head out. Get to where I want to fish and my auger pulls half way and locks up. ??? I fiddled around with it for a bit and thought maybe, just maybe condensation caused some ice to buid up in the motor? Back to the truck to try and warm it up and nothig. Get home, start taking it apart and there is a nut missing that holds the gas tank on. Went though the carb and into the motor. Shook it for a while and got it to come back out. Didnt look like the nut had too much damage to it and after I got it back together it fired right up. I just hope It didnt do too much damage. It did ruin my day though.

Well I guess I am glad I am not the only one to have a bad day. The clutch on my four wheeler shattered to a million pieces out in the middle of the lake, several hundred yards from anything, with near zero visibility.

The bitter cold and wind really takes a toll on gear doesn't it? mad

Sometime all the preparation in the world cannot overcome Mother Nature

These conditions are where quality gear separates itself from the pack.

You all have my empathy, I had to leave my sled on the lake the other night when the fuel line froze frown

I shattered my back window with my quad a couple of years ago, I still went fishing. I had a good time then came home cleaned up the mess told my wife and the went the next day to the salvage yard and got them to put in a used one.

Sorry to hear you had your window break. That definitely sucks.

If it will make you feel any better I "tapped"(not very hard at all, at least I didn't think so crazy) a tree backing up. 1700+ bills for the damage to my truck. Luckily I have insurance but I am still coughing up $500 for the deductible. I hope you are able to find a replacement window relatively cheap.

My day started out rough on Thursday. Went to winch up the wheelhouse with brand new cables, "SNAP". Went to the store, new cable. Done. 4 wheeler decided not to start, dead battery. Pull started it and worked fine. Get to the lake and when I put the wheeler into reverse, it dies, unless I hold in the yellow safety reverse button that polaris has.

Get the house set up, turn on one of the lights, fine. Turn it off and then on again, no power in the whole house. Checked the fuse near the battery, looked good and replaced anyway. Still nothing. Go to the hardware store to buy LED lights, fished in dim light and got 1 perch right away! Nothing through the morning.

I still don't know what's up with the lights in the house and wasn't about to look at it in a blizzard.

Sorry about your luck. My wife went outside a couple nights ago with the dog and went into the garage to turn on the outside lights only to find the back window of her Escape had exploded into a million pieces! Had to have been a crack in it somewhere and the cold to hot got it. Had a glass place come out in the morning and throw a new one on. Good luck and like everyone else said, try the junkyard!

I was going to tint the back window of my Ford Escort wagon once and the wind caught my sheet of tint and wrecked it. I shut the back gate and it shattered (shut it kind of hard) Went to the junkyard in St James and got a new window for $15, and had the local body shop put it in for $40.

Sorry bout the bad luck, we have all been there.

one year i was driving to work in the bitter cold and i watch a crack in my windsheild grow bigger and bigger as i was driving.

vehicles...the day they invent a horse with air conditioning and heat for the winter i'm trading. at least when the horse dies you can eat it

if you dont mind spending few more bucks, new window may be the way to go as opposed to a junkyard. and some companies will come right to your vehicle. hope things work out for you

Sorry to hear about the window. Hope you can find a cheap replacement. A guy in the UP had a bad day this past week. Dropped his polaris ranger and brand new auger through the ice. Currently it is on the bottom of the lake in 35 feet of water.
