Cabelas panning camera

Anybody used the panning camera sold by Cabelas?

It looks like it's probably made by Marcum. Did Marcum have issues with the panning cameras last year or is that just rumors?

Any info appreciated.

I have a VS560 that is a few years old and it still pans and functions the same as the day I bought it. I'm not sure about the panning camera's they offer.

Gus-I can tell you for positive that The cabelas camera are made by cableas, MarCum has nothing to do with them. Period.

So the question looms about the quality I guess. I know Cabelas will stand behind their products. Has anyone used this camera yet?

I have played with mine a bit, so far so good. BTW, Cabelas dont make anything for them selves,it may not be made by Marcum,but somebody made it for trhem.

You sure they aren't made by Marcum? Last year I bought one of the other Cabela's cameras...The panning cam is new this year) and on my fisrt time out with it I dropped the weight down the hole while playing with adjusting it for downviewing....stopped by Cabela's on my way home to see if I caould get a replacement weight and they had me call Marcum directly....Marcum shipped my TWO new weights that arrived the next day...NO CHARGE. The cases and everything about the new panning cameras look just like the other advanced angler camaeras they sell so I have a hard time beliving that they aren't made by Marcum when the others clearly were/are....

That may be true stumper.. but I know MarCums hands are not in it. The first year Cabelas came out with an underwater camera, MarCum did make it for them.. It was only a 1 year deal, Cabelas pretty much made a copy of it and made it for them selves after that.
