Genofish
Has any tried tipping a jigging spoon with just the head of a salted minow?
Chode2235
I will sometimes freeze my shiners if I dont use them all, and dont want to bother with keeping them alive.I put them in little baggies of about 6-8, and use them for jigging. Not sure onthe salted minnow, but I have had pretty good success. Its sometimes important to show those fish a little meat, and a frozen or salted minnow is a lot easier to deal with than a bucket and wet hands. Genofish
I was watching a ice fishing show with Chip Leer and he was catching eyes with a spoon tipped with salted minnow heads
PerchJerker
I'd think a fresh minnow would be better, unless salted or frozen were your only options????
Craigums
I'd think a fresh minnow would be better, unless salted or frozen were your only options???? I would agree, but maybe the salt disperses well in the water...I guess I really don't know

Black_Bay
I was watching a ice fishing show with Chip Leer and he was catching eyes with a spoon tipped with salted minnow heads I saw that one. He was doing very well. My own experience is limited to open water where I have had great luck with salted minnows in Canada.
