Your big fish of the year: conditions and lure....

Thought it would be real interesting to hear info on everybody's big fish from this year. Lake or River? Structure it came from? Time of the year and day? Water Clarity? Weather? Moon Cycle? Lure and Color and Retrieve? etc.

-My biggest came from a River that had a couple feet of clarity

-came from almost slack water/slight eddy a bit down current of a small rock point in about 3 fow

-Caught it on Oct. 4th at noon after about the coldest night of the fall to that point, with a high that day in low 50's. No clouds and about no breeze

-55 degrees for water temp.

-didn't seem to have anythnig to do with moon cycle

-was throwing a 9" perch swirl suick, giving it hard snaps with descent pauses between and the muskie crushed it

My only and second biggest (guess) came from a lake with 6-7" clarity.

-The Moon was in transit for about 10 Min which was good for me the year before almost to the minute as well.

-12' water second weedline.

-Perch moving from deep to the first weedline.

-Scattered high clouds.

-Slight breeze on and off.

-October 4th as well.

-Lure Misfit color Bubble Gum Tiger Gold foil base.

-Retrieve bait had splashed down and sank just to the top of the weeds 2 snaps and she was had.

10 feet of water over a weedline at sunset, dead calm.

Noticed an unusual amount of surface activity from panfish in the area. Through a firetiger suick around there and it nailed it a few jerk-baits into the cast. Don't remember the day, October sometime. Not sure of moon cycle.

53"

July- 3 days before full moon

no wind

10pm

Black Shumway Flasher

Last yr was 54" on Tonka 4th of July , YES on Tonka 4th of July at about 10am , just before the huge pleasure boaters and just before the chaos out there began. At about 10:30 AM you couldnt even stand in your boat w/ the huge pleasure boat wakes coming from all angles. Blue Bird skies, hot, not much wind and got it on a Top Raider (only fish i ever caught out there on a Top Raider too), could of been the luckiest big fish i ever caught.

-52" by fat

-September

-Can't remember for sure, but I think 1 day after full moon

-slight wind from the W/NW which ended up switching to the SE

-9 pm

-Pink Bou Bling on the 8 (there you go Rebel)

-5 feet on the inside weedline. One of the most underfished spots IMO.

Lake in Iowa

48" just after the full moon rose just after sunset on Aug 14th.

Professional overrun on the cast, took a minute or two to get unraveled. Reeled in swung back for the next cast, looked down and she's laying next to the boat. Dropped my custom EA copper cowgirl back down, made 1 turn and she ate.

40" Oh yeah! Pretty weak I'm aware, but it was fun!

- Late July morning

-Lake

-murky water (not clear)

- Saw the fish surface as I was hitting the edge. Tossed a bulldawg past her and she was about an inch behind the bait, I knew she was hot. Couple turns in the eight she was gone. Marked her kept moving. Not 20 ft from the eight she surfaced again, she was hungry! Tossed a walk the dawg, nothing. Tossed a Tiger tube, a couple twitches, she ate!

Although it is possibly the same lake, there is no way I could tell that is the same fish. I don't recognize anything in the background of propsters photo to make me believe it is the same lake either. The lake that I fish has houses and cabins around the whole lake. I can't think of many areas of land around the lake that doesn't have some type of building on it. I don't recall many pine trees either. Nice fish Hunter and Propster!

very nice fish, the black mark near the upper gills, same size, same depth, ck your pics Dhanson, its a chance it could be. it would interesting if it was. good chance of same lake too. it also seems alot of lakes are somewhat, i mean somewhat noticeable once you see a good # of fish from that lake, you can kind of get an idea.
