What kind of knot do you use when you are attaching a mono leader to the dacron tip-up line? Thanks for any help!

I tie a snap swivel onto the end of the dacron tip-up line and then tie a loop in the leader material to join the two together.

I use back-to-back uni knots to connect my lines together

I use a Uni-knot. You can Google it. If the diameters of the lines you are tying together vary greatly you might have to step the leader down. For example, going from your tip up line to a 10# mono then to a 6# mono, etc. The knot also works great for putting a mono backing on a spool you plan to use a braided line on so that the braided line won't slip on the spool.

Another one for barrel swivel. It works pretty slick.

I have used a surgeon's knot with some line combinations but like the swivel a lot more.

I tie a loop into the tip-up line and then attach my leader to that by either tying it or using a swivel
