deathmatch782
Bought a brand new auger and got a deal on it since they were missing the gas cap. Anyone know of a place to purchase one that will fit?

deathmatch782
Checked their site already and the cap is $13 plus shipping. Seems dumb to pay almost $20 for a gas cap.
MuskieJunkie
If it's a techumsa engine then you need that gas cap. A lot of stores have them.I just bought one at fleet farm for $10.
UMDSportsman
the origional on my eskimo was a piece. They had a really cheap brass insert pressed into the plastic cap. I think i just went to FF and picked up one for an strike master, or a juffy and worked just fine. as long as the threads are the same, it don't matter, they all have breathers on them. DaveZman14q
what exactly is the breather for on the cap of the gas tank?
UMDSportsman
The breather allows air to flow into the gas tank when the engine is running. When the carb is pumping gas it will create a vacuum in the gas tank to the point where it cannot pull gas through the line anymore. This will cause the engine to loose power and stall out. Be sure to open it when starting your engine and close it when you are done, or gas can and will come out of the breather when the auger is layed down.
