kanerZ71
Anyone know if Big Marine Lake is still open?? Was gonna try and get a few ducks this weekend!!
Lane
A buddy and I were planning on heading out there two for one last effort, but on my way to work this morning, i drove past White Bear Lake, and it is completely frozen over. If White Bear is closed up, I can't imagine that Big Marine is open enough for ducks.
mpester
I hunted there two weekends ago and saw next to nothing for ducks. I stopped by last Sunday around shooting time and I saw next to no ducks. Yesterday, I hunted Waconia and saw very few ducks. I shot two buffle heads and one suicidal merganser after he came into the decoys three times. If I were you, I would hunt the river, head south or find a field to hunt near the river. Deitz Dittrich
As of this morning there was still quite a bit of open water in the chisago lakes area.. I have not been to big marine, but would guess there is still some open water. But thats just a guess.
EYESTALKER
Not sure about Big Marine, but Forest Lake had a bunch of open water on 1st Lake this morning. Was kind of suprised at how much!
Jiggawhat
I would be surprised if Big Marine was completely covered with ice even with the relatively cool temperatures we have been having.
kanerZ71
Thank you for the replies. I would hunt the river but am using a row boat and it's a long row down on the river. I'll check it out after work to see what the ice is like.
