mike morris
Last ice fishing season my Nils auger fell out of my truck bed as I was driving across the lake. Well after using it the rest of the season, I noticed it might have bent the top part of the auger shaft just a little bit. Just seems to wobble a little bit more.Is there any adjustments I can do by bending it myself, or is that something I'll need to take it in to a shop for? Also, I need to sharpen the blades. Do you think that's something I could do, or would you reccomend I send them in? I know there's a way I could do it, but I hear there's not much room for error? Jim Almquist
Here is a link to Surface Tension. He can sharpen your blade but the wobble part really make me wonder if that is the problem and not a dull blade. Is it bent were the flitting(sp)is or at the top were you might use a pipe bender to straighten ? Surface Tension
mike morris
I haven't taken a close look at it, but it seems to wobble towards the top, right below the motor. Thanks for the link.
Jim Almquist
I just wonder if you would be better off buying a Nils 8" hand auger and then you would have a spare cutting head. The only reason I say that is if your shaft is bent it might affect the way your cutting head works and it might not be dull but cutting at the wrong angle. You will have to try to straighten it but if all else fails you have a way out.
