I would respectfully like to thank the Acting president for his service. He took a lot of knocks and is still standing.

Though I can not give him credit for preventing any terrorist attacks on American soil because he and his administration fell for the terrorist strategy of us spending until our economy hit the tanker. So far their agenda is winning and Bush has not figured it out yet.

Although I have opposing views, I don't think anyone can argue with the fact that the cards dealt to him were some of the worst in recent history. Although we can speculate, no one can reasonably say we'd be better off, or worse off, had we had a different leader during the past eight years.

That being said, the assertion by the OP forces me to leave this little nugget of truth.

Worse than that, those terrorists were also posing as loan officers forcing Americans to make horrible financial decisions in mortgage debt and credit cards. The terrorists actually became the "Jones'" and Americans, in their attempt to keep up with them, bankrupted themselves fulfilling their terrorist goals. . . . That [PoorWordUsage] Bush Administration

I'm sure you have bad apples in your profession also. I think it is a little harsh calling them terrorists. Maybe people should start blaming themselves for getting into situations they couldn't handle!

Sorry , Im not good with the smiley faces. i was completely joking. The economic strife and credit crisis has , at best, a shred of tie to the terrorists or fighting them. (in my opinion).

It's a [PoorWordUsage] shame that so many threads in here start with some sensible, thoughtout posts and then the lunatic fringe lets off with the scuds again.

It's o.k. that we all disagree here and there. Really it is. smile

Sorry then Musky,

I'm just sick of these people that bought 500k homes making 25k a year and can't figure out why they can't make the payments now. Then it is everyones fault but theirs.

He may have keep another attack from coming but he also about trashed our economy with his policies. No Republican had a chance after 8 years of the Bush man in the last election.

He enjoys the worst rating or lowest of almost all Presidents ever. When he was down to 30%, the press stated that it could not go any lower as the Repub faithful would always keep it that high.

Ya, now 24%. Not to many people of this country have much for what he did in the last 8 years. I'm very happy to be done with Mr Bush.

He has socialised the US banking system

The big 3 auto manufacturer are bankrupt

We are in a recession

Unemployment is near 8%

The stock market has lost 40% of its value

A great eight years; indeed.

Your kidding right? GW did all this all by himself. HMMMM. Seems to me congress must approve most of these actions.

Barney Frank and Chriss Dodd and irresponsible home buyers are responsible for the financial crisis...

The Dem controlled Senate came up with the socialization of the banking industry...

Poor management has doomed the auto makers...

But you keep blaming GW. I just wonder who your gonna blame for the next 4 years.

Hey Harvylee check out the approval rating of our DEMOCRAT congress...last I looked it was at 17%

SOme of you guys kill me. You never let up. You think one man, ONE MAN is responsible for all that you see as bad.

We will never know, but I preffer to think taking the fight to them is better than fighting them in our streets as they do in Isreal.

Getting the thread back on topic. GW may have made some unpopular decisions, probably was badly missinformed on a few things, but some choose to make choices based on popularity, other shoose to do what they feel is best for our safety.

THANKS for keeping my family safe GW.

I thinks some mistakes have been made, there is no doubt about that. Wade is absolutely correct, congress has pretty much backed GW all the way. There are things that have happened that started way back(pre GW) to actually get to where they are now.

The one thing I will say is taking the fighting to Muslim terrorist have kept the fighting off our streets. Better there than here!

Things are a little rough right now and we are looking to blame someone for our woes and he is the most visible, but there are many standing behind him that have as much or more of a hand in how things are right now. We need to look past the president and take a hard look at the senate and congress.

i didnt vote for the guy in 2000 or 2004, neither candidate impressed me. he and the congressional repubs and their performance in 6 of the last 8 years are the reason why we have a president obama. he and his fellow repubs grew government by 40-45%, poorly conducted a war that should have been done 4 years ago, never once lifted a veto pen to curb the pork from his own party, open borders, ect ect. although i wouldnt call him the worse in my lifetime, that honor goes to carter whose J.A.R. got to 21%, he is up there

and i am a conservative!!! and i never found president bush to be a conservative

however, it almost pales in comparison to the performance of the left. i think he tried to do the best he could in horrible circumstances. it was no joy hearing his opponents make their opposition personal. i got to listen to the DNC question his legitimacy as president, claims he lied about WMDs even though many of them made the same claim pre-GWB, criminalize everything he did, everything that went wrong was blamed on him, undermining a commander in cheif at war just to score points regardless what it may do to troop morale or the country's, hurling insults at the electorate after the 2004 election and other total lack of respect for the office

whatever happens to the obama presidency, i will never make any disagreement with him personal. nor will i question his legitimacy as president. nor will i ever put any Impeach Obama Now signs on my lawn nor state,"he's not my president."

so good bye mr president. and God bless you and yours

btw...the last i saw congressional approval rating was around 9-11%. i want to know who those people are that approve

I couldn't agree more with you Wade. Blaming one man fot this mess is not right. We'll see how a rubber stamp press does with the lowest rated congress ever.

Now, I would like to thank President Bush for his service. To deal with the carp people sling at him and still keep us safe was a job done well. No president had to face what he did in the first year and keep things a float. He went against the popular thoughts to keep us safe and we have not been attacked since. For that I am thankful.

Most of the blame for the bungled war in Iraq can be placed on President Bush. But remember the context in which we went to war...we had just been attacked, on our own soil. I'm not trying to justify the war...I do not support it...but when looked at in context, it certanly wasn't just a whim.

As for the economic mess...this has been more than 20 years in the making. Several administrations and several congresses all get to share in the blame for this, along with complicit lending institutions and their minions in the appraisal and underwriting fields.

Folks can't afford those house payments because,

the price of gas tripled, that drove up the cost of groceries, building materials, clothing, and everything else we buy.

Do the math of those increased prices for every month and theres a house payment.

Our recover is dependent on the price of oil.

Anyone took a look at price of oil and China's demand? ^_^

I guess i can thank GW for helping to collapse the global economy so we can have cheaper oil!

Most of the blame for the bungled war in Iraq can be placed on President Bush.

I understand GW was at the helm during the war, but I have a hard time beliving that he singlehanded was able to fake significant information from numerous sources that led us (and congress) to believe Iraq had WMDs. He also was unable to control the generals control of troops, forces, and political reasons to not be in Syria chasing fleeing terrorists.

I don't think he did a great job, but I don't think it was the horrendous job the press would have us believe.

I do have a problem with people not respecting the position. I think the press has downgraded the president by not adressing him as president Bush. I think if you like him or not, he is in the position, and should be respected. I will expect the same respect for President Obama, when he gets into office.

Right on brutha!

While he might not have made us all millionaires, he made some tough decisions. He didn't lie under oath and I suspect he won't leave the White House in shambles when he moves out.

    • Well got the unit today first Impressions are I'm really happy with it...I like how the maps included have depth shading...The screen seems very nice...The only thing I don't like so far is the quick release bracket, I feel like I'm going to break it when I pop it off. The transducer is pretty darn huge, not sure if all side imaging ducers are like that or not...Overall very happy for $499, cant wait to get it on the water.
    • Hey you guys!...had to fly into Phoenix couple days ago to check on some golf stuff and while wandering through a big supermarket saw a display of Canadian pen-raised walleye.  It was 18.99 a POUND.   Can you believe that!?  A stinkin'  little 16 ounces of walleye for THAT much money. If a guy could put up with all that sloppy, soft wiggle-wiggle of a battle to boat one a guy could make a pile of money catching them.  Personally,  I'd fall asleep in a walleye hot bite.
    • What's kind of interesting is there were a few crab apples by my old work and they would eat some in the fall. But in the spring when they must get just ripe enough. It would be a pile on of Robins, Blue Jays, Squirrels and they would clean the trees in a few days. Like a good wine they must know when its time!

    • Shell is complete, had trouble finding a door luckily a guy had a camper door on hsolist that will be re-skined with the black .040 exterior siding.  The aluminum siding was supposed to show up yesterday, but dint for what ever reason and will be delivered on Tuesday.  Installed the bracing for 5 holes, HDPE on the skis will be in tomorrow to be installed hopefully next week also.  As you can see I built a ladder for the top bunk, I am assuming once the kids stop using it as a playhouse that area will be converted into storage as this is just a day house.  Any input would be appreciated.
