I love ice fishing but there is one difference compared to all other fishing or hunting activities. You don't know when it will start. Most everything else has its opening date that you can plan on for months in advance. I'm not sure if not knowing makes it better or worse but I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas when it comes to ice fishing much more than any other hunting or fishing activity. I check the accuweather 15 day forecast a few times a day online to see when it'll be cold enough even though I know that day 15 day of that forecast doesn't mean a thing. I also take the long way to work on cold mornings to see how the ice is coming on the ponds and lakes in my area. Just a couple more weeks of torture to go. COME ON ICE!!!
