Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

My Dad has permission to hunt geese in a cornfield in Isanti Cty.

Well, he went up north to hunt deer so I figured I would hit the corn field. I pull up the field and see that it was recently harvested, I'm thinking great. I go to the back of the truck to get the dekes and the Warden pulls in next to me. He askes what I'm doing and I tell him that I'm going to goose hunt this field. He askes if I have permission and I say I do, he proceeds to tell me that all of the land owners have agreed to not let anyone hunt until 1pm. Then he askes me if I'm ok with that. At the time what am I going to say. I take off my camo and go home.

On the way home a couple of thoughts go thru my mind.

1. Can they do that? Not let you hunt until a certin time?

2. Why would he ask me if I was ok with that?

Anybody else run into something like this?

Mike

If your Dad had permission for himself AND family members, I'd have gone back to the landowner. Because of what the CO said to you makes me think he thought you really didn't have permission and was just gonna send you on your way. Of course land owners can have "rules" but yur Dad would have been told that.

I would have talked to the land owner. Talk to your dad and the landowner, if you find out the info the warden gave you was incorrect report him.

Are you sure he was a c/o, not just someone who just B/s 'd his way onto the land you were going to hunt. Since you were there why not go back and check.

You sure it wasnt' due to deer opener? They might not have wanted a lot of blasting if they were deer hunting nearby. (I would think they WOULD want it, but who knows.) Just wondering.

It was a CO, badge, gun & truck with all of the gadgets in it.

I thought about talking to the land owner but then again it was 5:00 am.

I was thinking about the deer opener and maybe the landowners didn't want any interference.

I will stop by and have a chat with the land owner this week. I want to try and get out this Sat.

Thanks,

Mike

What part of Isanti Co.? I think with the Gov. in town for the opener the area land owners and law enforcement were shutting down most things not related to the Govenors Deer Opener.

If you were close to an area being used for the event that may be why you were shut down. Especialy with a quick response like you said. 5:00am. and all.

Personally, while deer hunting this weekend I had several duck hunters near by. One in a pond real near, and there must have been another set out some place. I'm not sure what the situation was where you were, but I enjoyed having them around. I felt as if they would push deer my way? And at least I had something to listen to, they were pulling up a lot this weekend on mallards in my area. So unless, someone was going to be pushing that specific field/area for deer I'm not sure what the problem would be.

I don't know, just my opinion but I'm sure many would disagree with me. Deer weren't moving this weekend anyways - anything to get them going would be nice!

yes for sure, it was like that for our group up north near Bemidji. We saw a few but not as many we'd see in past years. Hopefully this weekend will be better.

I dont know what the deal is with the CO talking to you about not hunting til 1 pm. It's weird. crazy

    • Archery ia certainly a different bird! I too would probably have had a nice tom as well if I had a shotgun tag.   The biggest draw back for me is It make me much less Mobile.  A new test of my patience.
    • Yup so far this season would have had 2 nice ones with a shotgun I just keep telling myself archery is life lol
    • Doesn't get any better than that. Pic says it all. Congrats
    • Well not the most attractive option but when the kids are out playing in the sprinkler you could get a roll of nonslip pool matting to roll out then put in the garage during the fall-winter?
    •   OK, then how about stripping the sealer if that is what makes it slippery.   After a few years it really isn't necessary, since the concrete is mostly cured by then (yeah it keeps curing for decades but most of it is done in a year or two).     I guess if you like the glossy look then maybe the sand in the sealer thing is worth a try.
    • Season ended just like I thought it would and happy Leipold held true to his word and moved on from Fletcher...he did some good things but overall did a poor job building a team that can compete at a high level unfortunately.  It will be interesting to see how the new GM handles this situation...getting rid of under-performers will not be easy and what in return? Going to be one of those down before heading back up deals. Coyle will be the first to go IMO, Granny can go as far as I'm concerned...gotta sign Zucker even though he was terrible in the playoffs, Nino is a question mark, Staal might need to go with the up year he had but long in the tooth and now would be the only time to get anything for him, Ennis (terrible player) will be bought out, Foligno (terrible) probably not tradeable with his contract...enjoy the ride Wild fans!
    • We packed four of us in the blind and had a blast!  Just about ready to give up and gave "one last call" only to have the birds blow up not 30 yards away from us.  One of the gobblers rubbed against the blind for two feet as he walked into the deeks- pretty dang cool!  Ryan made a perfect shot and dropped the bird in his tracks.
    • Ryan.pdf The pdf shows up as a link for me.  Is that ok Borch?
    • Twins are 33-91 against the Yankees since 2002! Its unbelievable how awful they play against them.    Stanton absolutely murdered that hanging curveball for a HR last night.
