Speaking of snow . . . some snow buntings

While my wife was picking cranberries in a nearby bog, I plopped down on the gravel road and waited for a small group of spooked snow buntings to work their way back toward me along the ground.

They got within about a dozen feet. Sure are cool birds.

I can really appreciate these shots! I chased them all over the Sax/Zim bog last winter trying to capture them on camera. They sure are some cute birds.

Nice captures Steve!....they certainly are little unique tough birds!....wonderful coloration ....not the birds one sees around town everyday.....They were in the"bog" last couple weeks already....tons of em!......flocks would light on the power lines along Hwy #7....

I like that first shot because it gives you a chance to see what the whole bird looks like! Usually all you get to see is the north end of the bird going south and not the head and sides. Thanks!
