New boiler - what's good what's bad.

3 posts in this topic

I'm looking at getting a new boiler and don't know a whole lot about them. What are some good or bad brands?

The most recent quote I got was for a Slat Fin, this contractor said he doesn't like the Bryant boilers. I think Weil Mclain is one of the best right.....

Also anyone want to throw me ball park numbers of what they think a decent price would be for the replacement plus labor? I have 2 quotes so far, one for $4,200 (Bryant) and one for $3250 (Slat Fin).

Thanks for the help guys.

I have two slant fins one for the house and one for my shop.

Paid 1200 a piece for the boilers five years ago. Hope that helps. Just put in a wood boiler this summer which will run through the slant fins for in floor heat.

Boilers have been trouble free so far.
