Putting a trolling rig on a runabout?

Guest

Question

My inlaws have this really cool, fast runabout that they bought for fishing and stuff. Works great for stuff, slightly less than ideal for fishing. We wanna put an electric trolling motor on it somewhere, but not the kind that mounts to the I/O. Any ideas? Minn-Kota site wasn't any help. The boat is an 18'-6" SeaRay. Fiberglass hull, 3.6 litre chevy V6.

Hi Robert. We have a tri-hull which had a walkway in the middle of the front. We put a bowmount on the walkway and it works great. We purchased a Minnkota mounting plate so we could take it off when not fishing. And then we had to use special screws because we could not get underneath the fiberglass to reach the bolts.
