JigginIsLife
Just wondering what everyone tends to get out of thier propane tanks when using a big buddy heater. I have a 20lber and i think its 11 (the smaller skinny one, not the short fat one) just seeing how long i could get out of the 11lber. ilovehardwater
I have a little buddy with a pancake style 11 lb tank, I usually go fishing 3-4 times a week for 4-8 hours each outing and probably fill up every 2 weeks. I'm guessing I can get 40-60 hours of burn time on 1 tank. I went through approx. 50 lbs of propane last season. I bought the propane tank new last season for 45$ or so. If I would have used the little 1 lb tanks I would have spent around 150.00 on the 1 lb ers. The 11 lb. tank costs 10-13$ to fill up. So the tank basically payed for itself. Plus the fact I dont have to worry about running out of gas and not feeling guilty about the disposal if the used 1 lb tanks. I hope this helps......By the way 7 out of 10, 3-4 times a week lol did you take up fishing in your aquarium or did you mean 3-4 times a month....BT

Coon
do you have to use a filter when using the hose/cylinder combo??
only ice
If using a bigger tank, I would put one on. I didnt and had a few problems. Now all is well!!
ilovehardwater
Definately use the filter, people in the past have used it without and it ended up screwing up the buddy heaters, others have said they dont use 1 and have no problems...Ill not take the risk and spend 12$ on the filter...BT
TiNK3R
Where can you get a filter at? Where would I refill my tanks if I got an 11 or 20lb?
hovermn
You do not need the filter if you use the quick connect hose. Not sure why, but it's not needed with that setup. I believe I paid $20-30 for mine at GM 2 yrs ago. Has a regulator on it, as well. Well worth the cost if you ask me!
tonkapat
the quick connect hose has a regulator built in. that is why u don't need a filter. otherwise get the filter
zamboni
where do you get the 11 lb tanks? sounds like the way to go... One word of warning about those 11 lbs tanks- they are SPENDY. Convenience costs money in the case of those things

JigginIsLife
is that the short fat one or the small skinny one??
Jeremy airjer W
I prefer the short fat one. It has a low center of gravity and very stable on uneven surfaces.
jwhjr
is that the short fat one or the small skinny one?? The short fat one. It's more stable as airjer mentioned.
