Hunting Trip

5 posts in this topic

I am from minnesota and was looking into planning a trip to west SD for either a archery Mule Deer hunt or a Antelope hunt. What would be a better choice? Im not a trophy hunter just looking to try for something new. How easy is it to get on public land, or private land? How big are the populations of those aniamls etc. Any help would be great thanks.

Shooter I lived in sd 32 years and now I spend $600 a year to buy nonres tags. Personally Id go for deer, it tastes better! Sd archery tags are for any deer. There is lots of public land along the missouri river and the black hills for mules. The problem is when pheasant hunting starts, the missouri river is a tough hunt. Plan on a 50 to 65 yd. shot after the stalk. The wall,sd area is also good, but wide open.

Cowboy,

Archery tags are unlimited in sd. Send in and you have them in a week.
