Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Core-Trax tie downs? Somethingfishy?

Recommended Posts

Somethingfishy - How do you like your core-trax tie downs? How many sets did you buy? Would you put them on again? Any issues?

I bought four sets from Costcos HSOforum, I returned all 4 sets to the store after installing them. It seemed like a good setup but I had to drill about 90 holes thru the trailers side lip to install them, after I finished installing them I went and bought a 9/16 drill bit(buy one bigger in diameter than your ratchet straps) and re-drilled each of the holes (approx every 6") this way is almost as flexible as the core-trax but cost under $10 and an hour or 2 of your time and it fits. The middle of the trailer was the only challenge so I bought 4 stainless heavy duty eye bolts and put them in the center for an additional secure point. I have probably 3000+ miles on the trailer thus far and the machines haven't budged.

I've attached a pic hopefully you can see how I did it, if the pic doesn't show you enough give me a call and you can come look at it.

Good luck,

Fishy

I noticed you have your spare mounted on the hitch? Where did you get the mount? I picked up my trailer this week and the mount they sent with me isn't even close to working. Thanks!

Northern Tool. It's mounted on a cross bar by the tongue.

Thanks! You would think for what they charge for these things the mount could be integrated right into the trailer at time of manufacture.

    • I know they drum quite a bit in the spring but I've been hearing drumming this fall. I'm not hearing as many as I do in the spring. But I'm sure hearing a good number of them drum  Are they  searching for a mate in the fall?
    • I was out 2 weeks ago around Duluth and saw a smaller buck either a 6 or small 8 pointer chasing a doe.  She wanted nothing to do with him.  I'll be back out this Sunday and Monday hoping to see a bit more activity.
    • Thanks Hoey.  At that price I think I will just go with the foam board insulation.  It's such a small area left to insulate and that way I can avoid the mess and the headaches.  Plus I will be able to get it a full 2-3/4" thick throughout. My next project I think may be to replace the dinette table with a jackknife couch.  Any idea how long those come?  The longest I've seen so far is 72" which to me sounds too short for me to sleep on comfortably since I'm over 6' tall.  Does anyone carry bigger sizes, or do most people build them so they sleep with their head on the armrests?
    • They make mounts where the TV sits out a little further and you can mount a couple smaller appliances to the mount behind the TV with straps.  Not an option for some as the TV may stick out a few more inches but worth considering if you don't want a separate cabinet.
    • picked up another 4.5lber last night at costco gonna give it another shot this weekend. @rl_sd they still had few others in the 4-7lb range left in the pile  I haven't seen any other places locally that have smaller ones like those.
    • saw a few combines out last night taking beans out on my way home from work. Took dog for a run and saw a couple more. Based on the ruts left in the field probably going to be a while yet before they really get going on harvest. Ground is still pretty wet and soft. We are supposed to get more rain this weekend in the eastern half of the state so hopefully they get get a bunch of stuff out of the fields these next couple of days. I have heard that in the northern areas, brown county, potter county etc where the drought was really bad they probably wont even harvest and just leave a lot of stuff in the fields until insurance can look at it. Those that have something to harvest got just enough rain late in the season that they may be able to salvage something but don't see them harvesting anytime soon. Good luck to those going out this weekend I probably wont end up going. I just prefer cooler temps mainly for the dog. I shot 3 birds earlier this week so scratched the itch. I am gonna get things done around the house and wait for more crops to come out and cooler temps before I really start hitting it hard.
    • I would also bleed them before storing in an ice box.
    • So many beautiful carps! Keep them coming
    • Heard about this trick before.
