I have had only one reasonable close encounter with them when I had 3 land outside my diver string. Other than that, I don't believe I have ever shot at one. dan z Posted October 14, 2008 Share Posted October 14, 2008 Ray, black ducks are pretty easy to tell if thier flyin with mallards, never seen it in my years as they like to fly in little flocks five or less. my brother and I tagged one in 1997 and will never forget it as he got it mounted december 2nd was the day and he made me walk in the ice/slush to go get it in my waders will never forget it.
