BOOF??

17 posts in this topic

Who thinks he will be with the twins next year? And also, will Guerrier and Reyes still be on the team?

Your thoughts please.

Boof will be gone. Guerrier and Reyes will remain.

I was actually a little surprised instead of moving him, they sent him to the bullpen. I don't think he will be back. Trade him for a bat boy and a case of baseballs for all I care.

Boof will do well in a couple of years just like some of the other Twins pitchers that were traded away. Boof was brought up to the Twins starting rotation in 2006 after the Twins sent a stuggling Kyle Lohse down to the minors. A couple of weeks ago, Lohse signed a $41 million contract with St. Louis. It doesn't look like Garza is doing too bad either. Hopefully, the Twins get something for Boof.

They kept him for a reason. He will get better. Starter staus is still possible. He has great stuff when he mixes up his pitches.

They will keep him at least 1 more year.

Reyes is a free agent this year, they will not be bringing him back.

Reyes and Guerrier will both be gone and maybe Boof also.

I think BOOF takes over the role Guerrier has had before this year as the long reliever and an insurance policy in case a starter goes down. REYES will not be back. BRESLOW will assume his role. I also think Mijares will be a welcome addition to the bullpen and I think Guerrier will remain, just in a more limited role. He had way too may appearances this year.

We should be getting Pat Neshek back next year! That will lighten the load some!

They are good. Much better left handed options then Reyes.

With his delivery, and having Tommy John surgery, I wouldn't pin my hopes on him too much. I thought the same about Liriano, but he doesn't drag his knuckles when he pitches. I was a side arm pitcher in HS, (Tekulve and Quisenberry were my heroes) and that is really hard on the elbow. I constantly had a half of tube of Ben Gay on my arm, and that was just after practice, let alone games

I think Boof and Guerrier will be back. Reyes will not, simply because Mijares can do the job, and Breslow was pretty good this year. I would love to see Nechack back but like was said before the surgery and his throwing style do not match. His best days might be behind him. To bad if they are because I liked watching him pitch.

I think there going to be back as well. THey were great in the bullpen, not as a starter. THey are going to need them arms down there if the guys are shot like they were at the end of this season.

I believe Boof is gone. I've seen enough of his erratic pitching. Like a lot of ex-Twins pitchers, he can't seem to harness his good stuff.

I hope the Twins re-sign Reyes. Breslow reminds me too much of Tony Fiore, one-year wonder. I think if he pitches the whole season his ERA will be 4.50 plus.

Guerrier will certainly be back. I hope Gardy learns to "protect" the arms in the bullpen as much as he does the starters.

I think we should trade Guerrier for a case of beer the way he played the last few months

Boof Stays, Guerrier goes. Boof simply has better stuff. Guerrier is also arbitration eligible so he'd get a good raise.

Reyes is also gone. Breslow will take his place and Mijares will be up too

if you combined guerrier and reyes you might get a case.........of Natural Ice Light.

Reyes has been nothing short of awful 12 times this season he came into the game without recording an out. his ERA was low not because of his ability, but moreso that he was constantly letting the previous pitcher's runs across.

    • Excellent summer fishing.  Charters catching strong numbers.  Jig/minnow or jig/leech and bouncers with spinners with crawlers or minnows still producing walleyes. When the wind is right for pulling spinners, they have been lights out.  Walleyes being caught in varying depths, 7-31' of water.  Some shallow shorelines still producing. Pike mixed in all over the lake.    Walleyes in the Rainy River with a better morning/evening bite.  Trolling cranks or pulling spinners a good idea to cover more water. Smallmouth bass are out and about along shorelines and feeder streams. Sturgeon fishing opens again Saturday, July 1st.     Up at the NW Angle, water temps are in the low to mid 60’s. Wind blown shorelines are giving up walleyes via leeches or crankbaits along the weed line. Crawlers on a  gold and/or orange spinner are producing fish out of the mud between 22 - 26 feet. On the Canadian side, bottom bouncers and spinners have been filling the livewells outside of monument bay between 24-28 feet.  Jigging near Skeet and Kennedy Islands have produced nice sized walleye and numerous perch. Great smallmouth action in Tranquil channel and the mouth of Johnston passage. Muskie fishing picking up with high 40” class fish being caught with a few 50's from shallow bottom bays or adjacent to them.
    • Busy time of year out there so if u get canceled it is hard to rebook especially with the smaller operations. Bummer though as it can be a lot of fun if they are biting.
    • I understand that you never really know when the Warriors are going to fall off or if they even will.  Hopefully the Wolves can make the playoffs and gain some experience, maybe teach the rest of the team how to play defense, so that in a few years we are knocking on the door and can lure in a top free agent to put us over the edge.  Its just an awful tough time to be a good team right now with the Warriors so clearly heads and shoulders above everyone else.
    • I couldn't have said it better myself pikestabber!  We have to go out there and do what we can now and not try to set up for "when the warriors are old" cuz the way the NBA is going who knows what players may join forces to set up the next "Warriors" squad.  Heck maybe the Wolves will be that next team !!  I just really love the addition of Butler and from the sounds of it we are not done yet and I am excited to see what will happen in free agency and if we could really land the likes of Kyle Lowry one of the other PG's that are hitting the FA market.  Nice to see the Wolves making moves!!
    • I would ask Getanet where to get some good ones!   Pork Belly Stinks Started by Getanet, May 1
    • So that means you ALMOST caught a fish!!   Real bummer!
    • I never use soap to clean the racks. Just put them on a hot grill for a few minutes and use a brush to get the majority off.    Hmmm, Gin flavored ham, mmmmmmmm.
    • My local meat market will sell you one. They did for a friend of mine about a year ago. If you want to take a trip to Belle Plaine I can hook you up, but you should be able to find it at a meat market near you also.
    • Looking for any intel one would be willing to share for bass fishing on Long Lake just south of Park Rapids.  Our family will be headed there in a couple of weeks.  From what I gather its predominately a walleye lake.  I'm just trying to get a general feel of the lake and hopefully shorten the learning curve.   Thanks, BK
