I keep hearing that the pheasant numbers are down, but where I live I see them everywhere along the roads on my 29 mile drive to and from work....what are you guys noticing out there?

I hunt out by ortonville and my father made a trip 2 weeks ago and he said the were THICK and this was only driving to and from town they didn't even walk the feilds...but im sure it really depends on what area of the state your hunting.

Numbers are down in the Appleton/Holloway area. Alot of the hens only had 2-3 chicks that made it due to the weather we had this spring. Counts that were taken this summer show the population is down about 20-25%. Still enough birds to keep a guy going though...

roosters were out in full force along the roads this evening. girlfriend and i took a 80 mile drive and saw at least 200 roosters. lots of bachelor groups, didnt see very many hens, or immature roosters though.
