I keep hearing that the pheasant numbers are down, but where I live I see them everywhere along the roads on my 29 mile drive to and from work....what are you guys noticing out there?

Numbers are down in the Appleton/Holloway area. Alot of the hens only had 2-3 chicks that made it due to the weather we had this spring. Counts that were taken this summer show the population is down about 20-25%. Still enough birds to keep a guy going though...

    • We actually just watched the first season of this show on Netflix finally. We loved it! We binge watched it and it only took us a little over a week to watch the entire season. We actually just finished watching Breaking Bad this winter and this was the next show we started. Season 2 should be out on Netflix within the next month or so I should think?
    • A lot of great ideas , seems liquid smoke is a fav, lipton is a good thought too. Great looking burglars fellas, and that bacon wrapped meatloaf looks mouth watering thirdeye.  I went back through my pics looking for the open pit burgers but all I found were steaks, but holy moly I must eat burglars a lot Cuz there's a bunch. Think next time I'll mix it up and see if anyone notices, thanks gents and keep the pics coming!!
    •   I agree. I wasn't exactly counting down to the midseason premiere, either, but it was a good, solid episode. I also really liked the clothes line scene--best action sequence in quite some time. I was impressed with the start overall and it's nice to see some sense of urgency and not just Rick moping around licking wounds.   Last night was...okay. Nothing stood out as bad, but it wasn't mind-blowingly good either. I am still reserving judgment for how this season ends, but half two is off to a pretty good start. I just hope they don't go off on a side character episode and kill the momentum they have going...
    • I for got, we added wild rice too!!  and only hand harvested too, I think it makes a huge difference in taste.
    •   Think his staff just wanted a break ........
    • What is your prediction on how soon after ice out that people will be out on Mille Lacs.  I am guessing within a week.
    • I just pulled the trigger and bought the Milwaukee 1/2 inch brushless fuel drill and the 6 inch K drill setup.  Tested it this past weekend.   Could not be happier. 23 holes and battery still had one bar left. This was in approximately 18-20 inches of good ice. 5.0 battery.
    • the one mentioned here, they have gone up to $399.99 but they still had free shipping and no has them around here.  they were very pleasant to talk to and get info.
    • One big boy just left Elite and went back to Mathews. Elite is a good shooting bow.
    •     I'm sure God approves. After all, he's not in charge down here anyway...
