Ralph Wiggum
Can anyone explain the difference between the oil injection system on a Merc and a VRO?
DTro
I'm pretty sure the VRO (Variable Ratio Oiling) picks up the oil and mixes it with the gas pre engine at a rate variable to your current RPM. Basically a smart mixer. While the others are direct injection.I could be wrong though.
Ralph Wiggum
I thought that too, but from what I have read, the Mercs are variable, too, depending on RPM.
marine_man
OMC injects the oil into the gas stream in the gas pump by itself, driven by vacuum linesMercury (and others) are variable as well, but are gear driven typically and do not involve vacuummarine_man
