IMO both do a great job no matter what people say. If you can borrow each of the model you are interested in and use each for a full outing. You'll find out pretty quickly where your preferences are.

I am a Vex guy - own both a Fl-18 & 20. Briefly owned an LX-3tc and tried my friends LX-5. Ended up staying with Vexilar.

If you do a search on the ice forum you will find a TON of debate on this one.
