whats the old saying..., minnesota:land of 10,000 lakes, 10,000,000 rules and 2 fish.'' grin

yeah lights are illegal. it's illegal to use any light that is used for the purpose of helping a poor soul actually catch a fish. it's illegal in 2 states. minnesota and wyoming. wyoming has fish? oh yeah... trout. legal in all others. go figure.

but i don't mind. lights are cheating.

Believe it or not, you can actually take a heat lamp light, with a 12 volt bulb and use it in your boat to see your bobbers. It must remain level with the ground, and not point towards the water at all. We were checked several years ago and found OK. Regardless of the fact that the light was still hitting the water, attracting plankton, attracting minnows, attracting fish, our ultimate goal was to see the bobbers.

This was several years ago, but I am unaware that the law changed.
