TEMPS!

4 posts in this topic

Hey guys, good luck this weekend. Ho do you think the temps will affect deer movement this weekend? I know they are not moving like they do in mid oct, but thier movement has picked up the last couple of weeks though. It's been chilly in northern MN (where I am going this weekend) but sat and sun highs around 70. Do you think this will slow the deer way down from moving or have little to no affect?

Good luck, be safe!

If the weather can stay cool, the deer should move fairly well for this time of year. If the heat comes, I'm sure the traffic in the woods will slow. I would hunt the water holes if it gets warm as they will for sure hit those.

Good luck to all.

The deer have been very actice down here lately, but it has been cool. After yesterdays storms it got warm and muggy, didn't see one deer last night driving to shoot trap. I might be the only one, but I don't get too excited about bow season until the nights start getting into the low 40's. If you are going out though, I'd do what Harvey said, hit the food and water, more than likely it will be a better evening than morning hunt if you are on food sources.

They will be a moving unless its 100. The temps in the morning should not climb out of the 50s-60s. I'm more concerned about getting the meat cooled down quickly than deer movement. I wouldn't worry too much. Good luck!

    • IDK, I am kinda liking this show more and more. Its much better than the first season. Yeah, Madison has her quirks, but there are some interesting characters and this whole conflict with the indigenous people now is intriguing.
    • DOILIES. Those thing on yer man-cave table tops. So that's a pic of DOLLY, huh? Smurf 's ol' gal friend....or yers?
    • The first piece that Golden State might be losing is Andre Iguadala. Would love to see the wolves grab him.
    •   Sure anytime. But, it kind of sounded above you were over Dollies?  Or was that Dolly's?
    • With all the moist and cool weather, the slugs are having a feast on our garden plants.  My wife asked me to look over some plants that the insects were destroying.  Upon inspection, this is what we found - slugs.  The vegetables treated with slug bait were fine.  It was the flowers, asters, marigolds, pole beans, etc. that were untreated and weakened by some hail were experiencing a slow death.  Check this photo out of the slugs.  These were white like extra large maggots.  They are all treated and coming back strong.
    • WOWZER what a beast!!!!!!!!!!! that DNR  biologist, Mero, i had a talk with him he did the creel survey on our little lake up in itasca county, odd that he would comment about mille lacs since he was out of the grand rapids DNR  office!!!!!! good guy though!!!!!!
    • Crud. I knew that would come back on me. I'll haveta head up to leeches and borrow some of his table doilies.

    • And that's the key...it takes a guy or two to step back from the max deal and take a pay cut to keep this type of talent together. In the NFL, the Patriots are a dynasty because Tom Brady is smart enough to take far less than he'd command on the open mark to stay put with a great coach and build weapons around him...he values rings (aka, his legacy) more than a few more dollars. If GS can do that, they will be relevant for a very long time.
    • nope it didnt!!!!!!!!!
