Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Can't take the TWINS anymore!!

Recommended Posts

Another fine example of why I should know better then to really believe in a MN club! It sure is frustrating to watch the bullpen constantly give games away. Not to mention the inability to get the big hit late in a close game. I guess I should be happy they have done as well as they have done, but to be so close and to let so many games get away!!!!! I'm sure the Chi Sox will lose tonight!!

JUMPING OFF and running for the hills! The Twins are making me nuts right now!!!! I just wish it wasn't the Chi Sox they are handing the division to with that puke AJ behind the plate.

First of all Coach, NOTHING has been given to the sox. They will have to earn it. We shall not go down without a fight. We may lose it and we may win it. Time will tell and there is enough games left to catch, pass or fall away. Don't give up the ship. You are starting to sound like a sox and cubs fans. They are used to giving up early year after year. I like it right the way we are going. Can't win them all. Yes they can play better and have given some games away, but that is baseball, and that is why they play 162 GAMES. Go ahead and jump off the wagon if you wish, but we are at that point, once you jump off, don't try to get back on....... It will be full.

Good luck tonite Windy......Our headlites are still shining in your rear view mirror.

garyc- You are the typical MN optimist. As long as we have a slim chance of winning something, all is good. I commend you for your positivity! I just can't handle anymore dissappointment. I'm sure I'll hop on and off about 5 more times this year.... that is the thing about the bandwagon... there is always room for one more wink

gringrin No problem did not mean to jump on ya, but after being a baseball coach for 10 plus years and coached ages 6 to 18 years old, you have to sell the PETER POSITIVE mode. Todays game is not the bull pens fault. When you leave 18 LOB and a 3-2 game, the pitchers are the last people I would find fault.

PETER PETER PETER POSITIVE. negative nellie went to chicago for the month, to visit Windy and Crew.

Been on the wagon since '61 and will ride forever, like dear ol' Charlie on the MTA... But I do have to say that these frequent sudden stops that the conductor insists on taking at Guerrier Ave, Reyes St, and Crain Rd do make a guy pretty carsick. crazy

A colleague at work said it best: "The Twinks P'd another one down their leg with that one..."

I would not worry about the White Sox's going anywhere in the play-offs. They are not that good. I don't believe that there is a team in this division that will go anywhere.

The best part is we have a race to the end!!!! crazycrazy

There are a lot of teams that cannot say that.

This is the part of baseball that is interesting, except for the AL West.

Down to the wire, wild card chances at stake. coolcool

Well maybe not the AL Central for wild card, but everything is still out there.

Get the homer hankies ready!!!

That is fo sho! dude

Rolaids sales should be through the roof in Chicago, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Boston, LA, Arizona and Milwaukee! LOL

Windy

Don't forget about Philly. The Yanks fans should get a few rolls of Rolaids, too. SHAME 'bout dem Yanks this season though- I know it makes me sad.

Almost typed that about the Yankees without laughing. Good job getting rid of Torre!!

Geno,

You will have to wait until the playoffs BEGIN to start taking your Rolaids! Just ask Steve Bartman for some, I hear he has tix for every home game for the Cubbies! LOL

We have to change the name on this thread. It is depressing. The only upbeat is listening to chicago go at each other. Boys don't stop now. Geno the ball is in your court.

Otherwise all you TWINS fans, stay PETER POSITIVE on this road trip. It will be a crucial one for sure. The way chicago is playing a 500 road trip would be fine with me.

Awright GC, a little serve and volley.....

Windy,

1. At least the Cubs will be in the playoffs for me to be able to enjoy the Rolaids.

2. Don't bring up the past to once again ignore the obvious - we are talking magic number NOW, and the Cubs' is lower than the Sox's. Take that, and if you ask nicely, I'll give you another SIR.

    • At the big M today and tomorrow. $4.99 for 6 pcs. Seems like someone is always looking for it.
    • I get what you are getting at but I couldn't care less about a person's choice of cooking method and whether it has more or less steps. The fact is I do things in cooking quite often that might not be the simplest way to achieve the results but I do it how I like it. As we speak I have a beef roast in one of those over-cooking crock pots that Del hates. It was easy, put roast and a couple other ingredients into the pot and turn it on, simple. But sometimes I like to take a piece of meat and marinade it or brine it then maybe inject it then rub it with a bunch of seasonings I mix together then light some charcoals, then dump lit charcoals on top of unlit charcoals then wait for temperature to be at optimal level then put meat on grill then check temp every half hour, then baste from time to time, then possibly foil, then possibly unfoil, then cook some more, then sauce, then let rest......you get the picture My main problem with souse vide is that I would never be certain I wasn't poisoning myself or my family.
    • Method 1- Take a steak. Put in a bag. Season, marinate etc. Get plastic container and fill with water to recommended level. Vacuum seal the bag Plop said bag in the water Add glorified fish tank heater Set temp and walk away until you hit the desired internal temp. Pull bag. Start grill or frying pan Cut bag, dump steak in the pan or on the grill. Cook steak until done Clean up grill or pan Dump out water Wash water pan Put away vacuum sealer.   Method 2 Start pan or grill Season steak Cook steak Eat steak Wash pan or grill Relax.
    • yup interesting but I too will stay with grills and smokers.......   and frying pans...
    • Well since Del once again can't be bothered to provide supporting evidence to his own arguments I thought I would do it for him, again. If anyone here is really interested in sous vide cooking I would suggest reading this:  http://www.douglasbaldwin.com/sous-vide.html. This is probably about as comprehensive a guide to souse vide as you will find and the first part about food safety is very interesting and explains what Del couldn't. At this point I personally don't think the method is for me but I would keep an open mind and would like to taste some of the food produced by souse vide sometime.(hint) If you like to figure out mathematical equations in order to keep you and your family safe and tenderness is your one and only consideration when cooking a meal then sous vide may be for you. For me I love that smoky grilled flavor I get from cooking over fire or coals.
    • Who's the one here who argues in favor of the FDA every chance he gets?
    • Good for you! Hard to get them wimmen away from that "put it back on the rack;  it ain't yet black!" mindset....
    • I deep fried a wild turkey yesterday to almost the recommended temp and thought it was way over done and on the verge of being a waste.  My wife thought it was great. I carved the domestic turkey in the roaster before the magic button popped and temp was barely140.  It was fantastic.  My wife was apprehensive but had to agree it was just right. I m slowly getting her off the “It ain’t cooked till it’s brown all the way through”.
    • Yep, I'll be hunting off an on during the season. Plan on hunting Saturday afternoon.
    • Assuming you are hunting MN, the regs aren't super clear about quartering, but if you read them it sounds like quartering is fine as long as the deer is registered first.  If you don't have cell service to accomplish that before you quarter you need to keep the head attached to one of the quarters.  You could still get it done it might just make for an awkward load on your back.  I would also recommend a good pack for doing this, or your going to kill your back and shoulders.  I run a Mystery Ranch and have had about 90-100lbs in it many times while training and hunting.  That should mean even a big deer would be manageable in two trips for one person.   I hunt some pretty nasty country, so my pack and a couple game bags ride in my truck all season so I'm prepared for anything.  If you go that route consider getting yourself a pair of trekking poles as well.  They don't break the bank and they make a huge difference when you have a heavy load on your back.  As a bonus my MR Cabinet also holds my stand, and climbing sticks really nice when packing that in a long ways.
