when my camper frig went out i slightly remodeled the frig area to fit an electric only frig. that might not be feasable if you move to different campgrounds. i am premanently parked. $120.00 is cheaper than a new camper frig, even a refurbished camper frig is $800.00. good luck.

any clues what is wrong?dometic-rm2611

Dometic has a recall involving several units and smelling ammonia is one of the problems due to cracks in the refridgeration unit. I had my fridge repaired under the recall. If I were you, I would go to their HSOforum and contact customer service to see if your unit is involved. For this you may need model, serial number and possibly date of manufacture.

It's going south fast. Try the recall thing and good luck. A friend of mine got someone to rebuild his for less than half the cost of new. He sold the unit right after that so I don't know if it would have lasted for very long.

My Dometic fridge doesn't work. I've tried the upside down trick, shaking it, and it doesn't produce cold. The coils heat up properly, it makes all sorts of gurgling sounds (none of my other Dometics made these sounds), but no cold.

Anyone know who I can talk to to see if it's repairable?

I really need the propane feature since I can't depend on AC power everywhere I go. Otherwise, a cheap AC fridge would work in my set-up...

    • Game 6 of Caps and Lightning was fun to watch, even though the lightning got shut out.  Ove was a beast, really fun to watch him play like that.   Good for the Caps, I think they can nuetralize the speed of Vegas, they have some hard hitters on the team.  Hopefully Ove can kiss the cup.
    • Vegas vs Caps, we all saw that coming.
    • Well this has been a tough season so far with this odd weather. Late winter jump into 80+ degrees.  It will be interesting to see what these next 4-5 days of 80's to 90's do to them?   Did find a few Morel's and some nice small tender Pheasant  backs last time out.
    • For the 2018 Minnesota Fishing Opener we went up to Lake Vermilion in search of Walleyes. The morning started off slow for us so we changed up the tactics and it resulted in a livewell full of walleyes, a few Slot fish and a new Personal Best!
    • Ok, if you don't post back in a few days we know!
    • I shoot 2 steel all season long in an improved cyclinder choke . Satisfied with that. Have a buddy who shoots Black Cloud 3's with impressive results.
    • I stopped at Lowes yesterday and got restocked at 9.88 per 18.6 lb double pack. No limit indicated.
    • I will have to find some more, cause we ate all of them! They were all connected on the bottom as they are supposed to be. I haven't seen a half-free or a Verpa yet this year and I have only seen a couple of Devil's urn's. The popple fuzz was covering everything this morning so they were a little difficult for me to see. Hopefully we get a shot of water with the lightning over night.
    • Good job!  I have never found any Blacks so they look a little different.  Can you take a picture of what they look like cut in half? They look a little scary like False Morel's
    • I picked for about 2 hours this morning. I'm not exactly haw many I got but its enough for a couple meals. I'm going to chop some of these up and mix with some cream cheese, feta cheese and garlic chives and then stuff some chicken breasts and cook them on the grill. The little bit of rain that we got last week helped the shrooms pop but it really didn't do much else for the woods besides help the mosquito's hatch. There were so many they licked the bug spray off first then swarmed. I found the mushrooms all over, North, South, East and West facing hills. Normally spot 1 has the best results but this trip it was my second spot. All of them had pretty good size too. Only a few that were in direct sunlight were dried up otherwise they are very firm. Spot 1 is the left container. Don't worry, I use a mesh bag while I'm out in the woods!
