What was your first vehicle, and try to find a similar picture if possible (Google) or better yet an actual picture.

Mine was a dark blue '79 Olds Cutlass Supreme

Very similar to this one.

The first car I drove out the front driveway with that was mine was a 1971 Challenger, very similar to this one, but a little darker green. It was a no frills/option car and a factory 318 model, but a Challenger none the less. At first I dropped a 273 Commando and a B&M 6-71 blower in it, blew that up and then dropped a 360 and tried a tunnel ram. Ran out of money for a proper tunnel ram set up and tried to make what I had work and it never ran good after. I kept the car around at my parent’s house, but shortly after my wife got pregnant with out first child, I had to sell it frown. Still have a bunch of parts from it to this day.

Many Teddy Nuggy and Rick Derringer tapes were in the glove box grin

Mine was just like this one, but blue! I bought the car when I was 13, it needed an engine, so I got a junk yard engine and rebuilt it and installed it. I had it in great shape by the time I actually got my drivers license. Then the tranny went out of it and I sold it frown

Datsun F10 Wagon. Hauled around my Bass amp to many gigs, made it out to grad school and became my field vehical

pic-28405.jpeg

In order to have one prof from UCSB to be on my thesis comittee he required all of his students to have a Porsche (he was president of the SoCal Porsche club) so he found one of these for me to restore with his help1965_911.jpg a 1965 Porsche 911. By the time I finished my MS the car was in good shape.

My first car was a 64 Impalla that my brother didn't want anymore. The steering was so loose it had about a foot of play so my mother goes out with a couple wrenches and tightens if right up. My mother! We all ask here how she knew how to do that and she says "I think someone at work was talking about it one time" When we grew up we had nothing so she had to figure out how to may do with it. What a women she was/is 78 and going strong!

I think I have had something like 40-45 cars maybe more. I kept track up to about 30 something.

it had 54,000 miles on it when I got it in the late 80's. It was fill up the coolant and check the gas. That was back in the day when I didn't know anything about cars but change the oil and fill it with gas! Those where the days!!

1985 Chevrolet Cavalier. Mine didn't have the trunk rack or tinted windows.

I called the car the Cavalier 454;..... 4 door, 5 speed, 4 cylinder.

Features included; 14" oldsmobile rims that my buddy painted up matching blue in Vo-tech. I put low-profiles on the front rims and tall meats in the rear (required replacement rear shocks.) Also had a MEAN set of snow tires. Bosch platinum dual point spark plugs. Oil changes came every 3000 miles, usually meant about two weeks. Had a switch mounted up to the ground wire of the rear lights whistlewhistle . Color match wax job twice a summer to help cover up the cracking paint. A sweet CB. A diesel emblem on the rear, got asked many times if it was actually a diesel.

The car finally was put to rest after someone came across into my lane in a snow storm.

Cool car Valv. When I was in grad school there was a repair shop in Riverside, CA that use to be a Citroën dealer during the few years that Citroën's were sold here. The owner was pretty cool, he we let us poor graduate students do the heavy lifting (chiseling off rusted bolts, pulling engines, etc) on our own cars and then he and his mechanics would do the brain work. Learned a bit about cars and saved a bunch of money. BTW his shop car/loaner was a Citroën MS. Very cool to ride in that thing while taking the head off my Datsun to a machine shop.

My cousin had a challenger with a 440. I hardly ever saw him but he parked it at my grandma's house so I would drool over it there. A little before I got my license my folks had a Charger, pea soup green with a light green ragtop. I wish that would have lasted until I was 16. However I ended up with an '89 Sentra like this only black and rusty. I totalled it the morning after my first White Zombie concert. Shortly after I moved up to a '92 Sentra. cry

The MS Citroen was a special model with Maserati motor, they were very fast. I loved Citroen for many, many years, despite the fact they were...French, I loved these cars. They weare actually the beginner or the front wheel drive and independent hydraulic suspension (awesome deal).

1984 Ford Escort

- 2 dr Hatchback

- 4 speed manual

- 4 cylinder

- no power steering, windows, locks, etc

- no AC

- factory AM radio

- Red paint

I put a Yakima rack system on the roof and upgraded the radio to a CD player, amp, new speakers, and a bazooka tube.

I could seriously get over 50 mpg with that car at times. At other times, I couldn't get up a hill keeping the speed limit.

And the E-brake spins this car could do! wink

The good old days! grin

Mine was a 67 chev pick-up. I paid 75 bucks for it and on a regular basis put 75 bucks worth of oil and various other leaking fluids in it.

My truck.....Sung to the tune of Jingle Bells....

Rust and smoke, the heaters broke, the radio works ok,

I light a match to see the dash and then I start to pray!!!!

I dont know if it still exists, but back the the day the Hilltop drive in near Stillwater let you in for 5 bucks a car. We'd pack a couple dozen people in the back of rusty but trusty and go to the movies.

1992 Dodge Dynasty

Grey with Red and White Pinstripes

Maroon interior

All the inside trim was in the trunk

Only 1 hub cap left

It was a 6 cyl. and I think it had about as much power as my Jeep does now, but it sounded like it was going to blow up when you got on it.

O and it had a hitch...you really look cool pulling a boat with a car let me tell you what.

It would have been worth keeping for the $400 bucks I got for it....

My first car was a 1991 Plymouth Sundance 2 door I bought new for $7500, and had my first experience with a loan and working hard through high school. No air, no stereo (I fixed that), pretty much as basic as they come.

I drove it through the final years of high school and throughout college. Racked on over 100,000 miles before I sold it to my sister. Completely trouble free car and incredible mileage...close to 40mpg in the summer. It survived one of the coldest winters on record in Ely where it jumped started several vehicles in the parking lot at school. Pulled all my belongings with a trailer, snowmobile...not bad for 93hp. grin
