dockothebay
Fall is on the way! The pileated woodpeckers are coming to the suet feeders at the cabin regularly now. One morning we watched 5 of them chasing each other around the cabin! This guy sat on the branch for at least 5 minutes - but whenever he wasn't pecking at the suet, he was crouched in this position and very watchful in all directions. Since they are so darn skittish, this was taken through the kitchen window and has been cropped quite a bit, still they are fun to watch!
Dbl
I noticed last weekend that they seem much more active. I wonder if they dread the coming of winter as much as I do!

dockothebay
Thanks guys - it has been fun to watch the fall patterns begin to emerge. But, like Dan, I am not particularly looking forward to winter's arrival! Seems like we just put the dock in!!!
