Just to make sure.....

3 posts in this topic

I need to get reassurance that I am reading the Deer Hunting regs correctly. I hunt a lot of different areas over the course of the rifle season and need to make sure I am not breaking the rules and understanding things right.

The area I hunt opening weekend is area 247. This is a lottery area. I need to apply for a anterless permit by September 4th.

I also hunt areas 221 and 222 during the week. These are intensive harvest areas.

Last year, with the all seasons license I also hunted area 154 the last weekend of rifle season which this year is a lottery area.

I just want to make sure I am correct, I need to apply for a Lottery anterless permit for zone 247. I also am able to purchase bonus permits ONLY for use in zones 221 and 222. Since I am applying for a lottery tag in 247 I am NOT allowed to apply in 154. Am I correct? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

You hit the nail on the head with what you said from my understanding.

Dont ask here, go to the DNR's web site and email them and get it in writing. They are very quick at getting back to you. It sounds right but dont you want to be 110% sure that you are right? Also you get it in writting.

    • that worked today    friend was throwing jerk bait and 4 nice eyes slammed it. funny!
    • Cooler than normal temperatures, clouds and rain dominated the last week and slowed down the spring progression, including bird migrations and fish spawning. However, a warm-up in the next couple of weeks could change that quickly.River systems across the entire state are running very high, and while the Memorial Day weekend has traditionally been a popular paddling weekend, recreational safety specialists are cautioning that only experienced and properly outfitted paddlers should be on rivers when they are running this high. The Lower Wisconsin River set a flow rate record this week of 42,000 cubic feet per second at Muscoda and there are no sandbars available for camping. The river is running fast and deep, with some boat launches under water.Fewer anglers were out this week due to the rain and cooler weather and those that were reported mixed success. Along Green Bay one hot spot has been out of the mouth of the Pensaukee River where anglers have been catching limits of walleye. White bass anglers had a great deal of success, with some harvesting more than 20 fish from a few hours of fishing. .
    • I believe they use the same blades so I wouldn't expect much of a difference.
    • So what is the difference between the Lazer Synthetic and just a plain ole Lazer hand auger when it comes to cutting ice with a hand drill?  Lazer Synthetic is lighter but does it cut any better?

    • My family is going to be headed to Birch Lake near Babbitt, MN in late June for a week on a houseboat.  This trip is a graduation present for our oldest and I am hoping to make it a week to remember.   I would appreciate any advice ranging from fishing locations, bait, suggested lures, and even sites to see on the lake.  I have done a lot of searching on Google with the hope of finding someone who maybe spent a week on a houseboat on Birch but not a lot of luck.  I have about a month to prepare for the trip so I greatly appreciate everyone input.   Thanks,
    •     I have had good luck with the "My Plate" app.... It is annoying enough to keep you honest, but simple enough to use.
    •   Yeah well once you fire that bad boy up and show her how it works, she will get impressed pretty quick!
