IFallsRon
The Twins have acquired lefthander Eddie Guardado from the Texas Rangers in exchange for minor league righthander Mark Hamburger, bringing back a fan favorite who helped the club win the AL Central division in 2002 and 2003.Guardado, who earned the nickname, `Everyday Eddie,’ for his ability to pitch effectively for several straight days, is 3-3 with a 3.65 ERA and four saves in 55 appearances with Texas.Hamburger was 1-2 with a 4.17 ERA and 13 saves in 27 games with Elizabethton, Tenn., of the Appalachian League. The Twins later today will announce the move that will clear space on the major league roster for Guardado. Scott K
Send down a pitcher for now. Eddie hasnt been doing very well recently! He has allowed runs in his appearences since the Allstar break
Gary Crichton
YA but look who is playing for. Not much interest as that team is going nowhere. Bring him back home and to a contending team. Look out. It could be good. We need to fill the 8th inning void.G.C.
Scott K
I agree, atleast they are trying something, without giving much up.
Gary Crichton
Now will the fans accept him back. I think so.G.C.

Scott K
I will, I liked him, but am glad we moved on to get Nathan. We will see how long I like him with how he pitches.

PierBridge
It's worth a try....Hopefully his poor pitching since the All Star break is atributed to wanting out of Texas and maybe he still has something left in the tank.Go Eddie!
SledNeck
remember when he'd load the bases every time he'd close the game and get the 3rd out while we were chewing our fingernails down to the nubs....Makes you appreciate Nathan that much more. Gary Crichton
Every Day EDDIE for the 8th inning. Lets try it. What do we have to lose.G.C.
CALVINIST
He makes me nervous but it's worth a shot. He ought to play better now that he has something to play for.
nofishfisherman
He would get it done when he was with us in the past but I think he cut about 3 years off all our lives the way he always made it WAY to close for comfort. I'm all for it really, I think Rick Anderson can squeeze a couple months out of him yet.
Jim Uran
What don't you like about that Leechbait.G.C. nofish said it best, Everyday Eddie made my palms sweat when he took the mound. I over reacted of course but when I thought about it he'd be an ok set up guy I guess.
DonBo
I think he's gotta be better than what we've been trotting out in the 8th lately. He did have a habit of making games interesting (hit a guy, walk a guy, strike out the side) but he usually got it done.My guess is Everett will go down to make room for him. Only gonna be a few days till Sept call up.
bassislife
Let's hope this move works. I sure hope he can help, but hey, with what we got it shouldn't be that hard.
Harmonica Bear
I am definitely on the fence with Eddie and will take the we'll see approach. I did read that he is 3rd in the AL in holds, so that says something.

Stratosman
I would be no more nervous seeing him entering the game to preserve a lead than when I see Crain enter the game in the same situation!
bassislife
They really should put Breslow in more when the game is close. I think the twins have really under-utilized this guy and he should have the 8th inning spot.
mike morris
What happens when Hamburger gets into a tough situation?"Hamburger is in a pickle here!"I love it. Love the pickup of Eddie G. I don't see how it hurts us in any way. I bet he rebounds with us.
