Need older version of Photoshop

9 posts in this topic

Can anyone give me some direction? Have an older PC (Windows ME) that has been delegated to the basement. Would like to install Photoshop, but everything on the shelves requires XP or Vista.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hmmmm, not sure which PS version that is. When was your computer brand new? Or rather, how old is it? I've been using PS pretty hard for five years (starting with PS 5 at the newspaper and jumping to CS and now CS2 at home), my wife since the first PS program came out.

I have an unused, unopened version of PS Elements (I think it's Elements 2 or 3) that came with one of my digital cameras a few years back. Are you looking for Elements or the full-blown PS?

Computer was new in 2000. ME was a very problematic system that led to Windows 2000.

Don't need full PS I guess. Probably wouldn't know the difference to be honest with you.

If your version is unopened, it probably says right on the box what OS it will be compatable with.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Well, this either came with my 20D back in 2004 or with the newspaper's DRebel in 2003.

It's just a CD in a clear plastic wrap, and it doesn't say anything about which OS version it works with.

I'll see if I can find out if they are compatible and will let you know.

I found out it's compatible as far back at least as Windows 98, so I imagine it'll work with ME, which probably is a bit later than that since you bought the unit in 2000.

Shoot me an e-mail with your addy and I'll drop it in the mail. My e-mail, as always, is in my sig below.

I would think if it works on XP it would work with ME! Although the older Hardware may may make the Program run slow but it should work.

I have friends still running ME and I know I have XP type programs running on their machines.

I'll dig through my old sofware and see if I can't find something!

    • Pretty hard to tell. Is this on a TWSP, County or State road? You will need to get a permit from them and build it to their standards if approved. Will you need a culvert? Probably will unless you locate it at a highpoint. Will you have to remove any trees? How much fill is needed? is the ditch deep or shallow? How long do you want it? Hopefully you are not impacting any wetlands... It use to be simple, but now it is much more complicated. Could get spendy...
    • Since my smoker is new for now I throw them in the big wash sinks in the basement with some Dawn and hot water to soak. Then rinse them with more hot water. I'm sure in time once they get more "purplefloyd seasoned". I'll rub them a bit with a grill brush and hit them with a garden hose!
    • Hello from the NW Angle of Lake of the Woods!

Here in Minnesota, water temps are in the low to mid 60’s and the Walleyes keep rollin’ in! Wind blown shorelines are giving up walleyes via leeches and crank-baits right along the weed line. Crawlers on a gold and/or orange spinner are producing fish out of the mud between 22 and 26 feet. Jigging has been tough this week with the strong winds, but the Mayflies have finally tapered off!!

Up on the Canadian side, bottom bouncing has been filling the live wells outside of monument bay between 24-28 feet.  Jigging near Skeet and Kennedy Islands have seen nice sized walleye and numerous perch. Great smallmouth action can currently be had in Tranquil channel and the mouth of Johnston passage. Muskie fishing is still sporadic with high 40” class fish being caught from shallow bottom bays or just outside of them.

      Fish of the Week:
      49" and 46" Muskie
      40" Pike
At least 10 Walleye over 25"

We hope to see you soon! Sunset Lodge
    • Anyone know where I can find it?  Checked a couple grocery stores and even a butcher and nobody has it?  Also what's a decent price if I do find any?
    • When mine get caked I nuke em on the gas grill for about 15 minutes. easy peasy
    • I agree with purpleflloyd..........seasoning. I MIGHT use a grill brush twice a year that's it.
    • Well first off you would probably need a permit but I would think 1000.00 should take care of it
    • Auuuug, that suks!  Really nice area up there.
    • Yards lookin' good, boober!
    • Dishwasher for me if I don't get to them right away like thirdeye.
