sounds like the bar on the viper is not removeable. is that correct? seems like it should be.

It is not removeable. I would prefer not to have it at all but it makes climbing a lot easier.

I have the Summit 180ss max and love it. I have shot my bow out of it no problem with the front bar. The only thing I don't like about the summit, it is a handfull to lug into the woods. Add that with pack and bow..... Once you set it into a tree it makes it worth it,,,,you can sit ALL day....
