Nice, I like splits. I built one as a Shaky head rod and I just love it for jigging in general (walleye, crapie, bass, etc). The splits just have a very nice feel when coupled with light weight guides. That area between the split is very nice for threadwork.

Very nice... I like the colors, they pop out pretty good. You must have done the thread work before putting on the handles, I don't see the usual tie offs.

The split grip allow a guy to play around with some heavier weight materials for the grip and not pay a penalty in performance. It is getting hard to find good cork. So wood and things like various bark is becoming a bit more attractive.
