alternator trolling battery charger

Anyone install one of the Minn Kota alternator chargers yet? I'm thinking of getting one. Just wondering if anyone had any feedback.

How well they work is 100% dependent on how much amperage your motor is capable of putting out and how long you run above 1/2 throttle. If you don't have a higher output alternator / rectifier it's not going to be doing you much good. If you don't make many runs above 1/2 throttle it's not going to be doing you much good either.

If you post what year and model your motor is I'll look up the charging spec.

Why doesn't somebody make one of these that boosts the amps? Doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to do.

If somebody does this, I'm buying one for sure.

I've got a Suzuki DF150, I believe it's a 44amp alternator. Thanks for the input.
