Easy Crunchy Pickles

I've got 2 jars of pickles in the fridge right now that should be ready tonight. Nobody at my house is a big fan of sweet pickles so I left out the pickling spice. I added a little extra dill in it's place. They look fantastic and smell even better.

Reinhard the nice thing about it is that you can scale it to how many pickles (or jars) you have, whichever is the limiting factor. the 1 cup vinegar/2 cups water fills 2 quart jars or so depending on how tight you pack em with cukes.

You can also leave the cukes whole, or halve em, or quarter them, which will vary the number that fit in one jar.

Yep, it is far from exact. Sometimes I slice them in chips, sometimes, spears, and whole if they are small enough. Chipes fill the jars best which also means less liquid is needed... crazy

When im making the brine, I typically go heavy. If I have too much im only throwing away pennies in vinegar and salt...

thanks. this is the first full day and i took a taste. so far i like it and i think it's just going to get better. i threw in some green beans and half ripe tomatoes. burgers tonight and some of those pickles are going to give some love on them. thanks for the recipe. good luck.

Thnks DC made a quart last Sunday and they are awesome.. Far better than store bought. Kids and wife also love them . Making batch two today. Also on third batch of salsa. I think we are at thirty pints so far and the garden is still throwin more goodies at us..
