ice cats

6 posts in this topic

I know some people have success fishing for channel cats in winter so I wonder if cut bait works? If not then what? I am considering cutting up some of the plentiful bullhead I can find and freezing for winter bait, think it would work?

I have caught them using go-devils tipped with fathead heads?

Cut bait works well. I'm sure bullhead would work as well as sucker and at times better.

Half of a fathead or cut shiner on jigging spoons and or deadstick, has worked good for me.
