Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Can I operate an Eagle and Lowrance at same time?

Recommended Posts

I have a 16' boat and I'm about to upgrade my trolling motor.

I have a Lowrance X-135 up front and a Eagle Cuda 250 s/map in the back.

Before I mount the X-135 transducer in the back next to the Cuda 250 I'd like to know if I get a MinnKota with Universal Sonar 2, would they interfere with each other like I know they would if I mounted them side by side?

I'll hang up and listen...

I have a Eagle on the bow with the transducer mounted on the trolling motor(not a universal) and I have a Lowrance on the dash with the transducer mounted on the transom. I have no problems with interference. Its a 17' boat.

Interesting...

I know for a fact I won't be dealing with the slack cable on the PowerDrive...

$100 upgrade for Universal Sonar 2...

Probably worth it.

Thanks.

I have a lowrance 334 transducer mounted on the back and just added a hummingbird 797 and also mounted that transducer about 7" away and they both work fine.

Perhaps the difference in manufacturer allows that?

I've had negative experience with two Eagle transducers 6" apart.

One or the other...not simultaneous operation.

I appreciate the input.

I have 3 tranducers running at one time, a shoot-thru, a skimmer and a trolling motor one. No interference either, that I noticed.

I didn't really compare the kilohertz and the watts or what ever, but the Hummer has 2 or 3 different setting for frequency on the transducer (low, high and SC) and i was flipping thru all of them and nothing interfered with the lowrance unit reading. They are both on different fused circuts so dont know if that plays any part in no interference either?

Your Lowrance and Eagle transducers are probably the same frequency and will interfer with each other if they're both on the transom.

If you have one on the transom and one of the bow they won't interfer with each other until you get to about 30 feet of water.

You can adjust the settings in the units to filter out some of the interference, but I'm not a big fan of this approach because I worry about filtering out other signals like fish, bait fish, transitions, etc.

If you're still looking for a PowerDrive with US2 you might want to check them out here at ProFishingSupply.

    • In SD you can only buy one any weapon Black Hills tag in the spring.  There is a state-wide archery only tag that can be used out here as well.   Usually it is tough to get just one bird, so I don't buy an archery tag.   This year we planned on rock climbing after shooting turkeys, so we are kicking that off a little quicker than expected.   I do not believe it is possible to buy non-res over the counter tags, even though it is not a lottery, and buying online requires shipping to an address that takes a few days...   I also did not bring my bow, but if my uncle has a bow for me to use I might call game and fish to see if I can buy an archery tag in Rapid and hunt a bit each day before we go climbing.
    • before...or after happy hour!!!!!!!!!

    • What a difference a week makes! Even far northern Wisconsin is finally making it to spring. With temperatures in the 50s and 60s, snow is melting quickly in the Northwoods, although it isn't gone yet and it may be awhile before its gone in the woods. Northern lakes still have up to 2 feet of ice and it's looking at this point that some lakes will still be iced over when the general fishing season opens on May 5. SLIDE SHOW | 6 photosWhat a difference a week makes! With all the snowmelt, waterfalls have come to life. Last Friday both Big and Little Manitou Falls at Pattison State Park were completely ice covered, but with warmer temperatures, they both came to life. People were eager to see the transformation with more than 385 vehicles visiting the park over the weekend to view the falls. Both Forks of the Flambeau are also open now and their falls are roaring. As things are drying out, we're also moving into the spring wildfire season. In the last week 60 wildfires burned 129 acres in DNR Protection Areas. Half of the fires were caused by debris burning. Stay aware of fire danger and burning restrictions by searching the DNR page for keyword fire. .
