July - Where the rubber meets the road

This year I am going to change things up. Year after year we always tried to fill all our tickets and bring back a ton of fillets, mostly walleye and perch. This year I am not as interested in quantity, but going after quality. I am targeting a day of chasing big walleye, a day for chasing muskie and a day for chasing perch. The next two days will be whatever was hitting best the previous days. I still have a freezer full of vacuum sealed fillets from last year so I am not trying to fill the freezer though I am sure we will bring some home. I would rather bring back a full camera this year rather than a full freezer!

Hey did anyone give Windy permission to enter Minnesota. He is not allowed to wear any sox clothing while he is in the state.

Someone should give him a Twins jersey to wear while he is here.

CC to chicago, now that is funny.

Sled, once you get Cass in your blood there ain't no way it is worth the drive to those other lakes.

Windy, the Cubs will win the all-star game. ("elect Yosh" - that was a good one. and don't forget the announcer: Pat Piper....."get your scorecards and pencils ready. Here's today's starting lineup for YOUR Chicago Cubs..."

Cubs win the all-star game??/ Come on. The NL hasn't won in 10 years. The Cubs haven't been to back to back postseason in 100 years and haven't been to the WS since 1945.

Even if it weren't for the Cubs curse--- facing the relievers the AL throws at you this year-- Good Luck!!!

Riveria,K-Rod-NAthan-Paplebon-Soria-Sherril-- if your not ahead after 5,, it's over. Who do you think will close out the game if the AL is ahead in the 9th??? You got it--- Riveria in Yankee stadium.-- he ain't pulling a Hoffman if you get my drift.

Sled,

I have seen 31+ walleye and 53" muskie come out of Cass and my daughter caught a 13.5" perch last year. Those numbers are plenty big for me, and like Geno said, once you get Cass in your blood you can't get it out. Our family has been going up there for 20 years and Geno is more than thirty, I think!

Oh and Gary, as for the Twins jersey, I would love to have one...my fish towel is getting a little worn out so I could use a replacement! Bleeding Black and Silver, baby!

I got a new fishing towel last year. Was at a Twins game last year with the cws and after we got done kicking butt, the cws fan took off his cws shirt and threw it up in the air. I keeped it. Funny thing though, underneath his cws shirt was a TWINS jersey. He wore that one pretty proudly as he left the stadium.

Funny he seemed to know better and came prepared.

No need to get cold when you got a freezer full of Cass filets from warm weather fishin'! Thanks for the offer though. BTW, Pike Bay is indeed a great lake to fish.

Mud, the biggest two-letter word in the alphabet: IF (the AL is ahead after 5....)

Sled, unfortunately there is no time to expand my horizon. Why do you think I'm still a Cub fan after all these years?

Geno...we were driving this weekend and I saw a sign saying Addison Avenue, my son said to far out of the way...then a little later down the road on the way to Indiana, we saw this really horrible looking stadium on our right...I thought it would be Comiskey, but the sign said something else, but I think there were sox hanging out to dry across the freeway.

I knew that would get a response from Geno! And you know what my response is going to be. The Cubs would sell out that band box if they were fielding the Hadley School for the Blind as their starting lineup. And as for drawing more fans, I have to go back to the fact that the Ford Escort was the highest selling car back in it's day, was it the best car on the market just because everybody was buying it? Things that make you go hmmmmm!

Windy,

I know, I know....when you can't battle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bull. Hey, are your eyes as brown as mine?

We all know there are only 2 seasons: winter, and construction.

So what was the occassion and why didn't you tell us? We might have been able to hook up some....maybe next time.

I met my relatives in near Chi-town to go to a funeral in Fort

Wayne Indiana....My son and nephew live close, so it was kinda a lay over bed and breakfast, pit stop deal.

Almost 3 days without the forum, lots of shakes and withdrawal symtems that I had to cure with a MHL

Baby Blues here Geno, but I do tend to pontificate from time to time! LOL

dude, give us a shout if you ever have time up here. I know other FM'ers who have hooked up at Commanche Jim's place Stoney Point Grille out in Tinley Park/Frankfort area. Ice cold Blue Moon and fantastic food, plus a ton of Cass Lake memorabilia on the walls.
