Lanesboro Area

Forestville Mystery Cave Park is like a 20 minute drive away. Otherwise there are a bunch of campgrounds in the area with flush toilets and fire rings right on the bike trail. Highway 250 or the Old Barn spring to mind.

Have a good trip. The nice part of that part of the state is other than the flood waters there really aren't too many pools of slack water for mosquitoes.

There is one just south and east of lanesboro maybe 2 miles. Its right on the Root, and has a bike/walking path nearby. The sites aren't great though. Literally zero privacy. They have nice cabins there though.

The Old Barn is right on the Root River. They rent out canoes and tubes. Also have a pool. Bike path runs right by the campground. We've stayed there twice, and I don't make a habit out of staying places with no lake.

I've been to Eagle Cliff a number of times. I thought it was pretty nice. Clean, quiet and right on the river. The people running it are pretty strict about how fast you drive, which is good, in my opinion and also pretty strict about when to keep the noise down. Party crowds might not want to go here but folks with kids would probably like it.
